Background & History

Ailolin is a former Earthling who awakens after death in the body of a newborn Black Dragon. Her Dragonkind inheritance gives her a name, Dragon language, and basic racial instincts, but omits roughly half of the information normally inherited by dragons—including any knowledge of her parents. 1 16

She survives her earliest days alone in Edafalon Forest, hunting wild animals and making a cave into her home. Although initially wary of humans, she befriends the eight-year-old Likaro, who patiently teaches her Human language and becomes Ailolin's first friend in her new life. 3 6 8

After leaving the forest, Ailolin enters the Southern Wilderness to seek Dragonkind settlements and information about her origins. There, Vidian offers her a Mutual Aid Contract and becomes her teacher, training her in languages, tracking, combat, Dragon Breath, and Dragon Language Magic. 13 16

Following Vidian's departure, Ailolin spends eight years traveling in search of her parents and other dragons. She eventually masters Transformation Magic and begins moving through human society in humanoid form, taking Adventurers' Guild commissions to support her travels. 30 32

Appearance

In her true form, Ailolin is a black-scaled dragon whose body develops from just over two metres as a hatchling into a giant dragon more than twenty metres long. Her humanoid transformation takes the form of a black-haired girl, though her horns, wings, and tail can remain visible. 2 31 39

After reincarnation, she resolves to prioritize herself and her friends over strangers. However, she repeatedly proves unable to remain indifferent to people in danger, describing herself as closer to lawful good than a true egoist. 17 40
