Amiya withdrew her gaze. She did not even know how to describe those feelings: the joy of reunion, the anger of being abandoned, the fear of being separated again, the delight of holding each other tightly. All those emotions had mixed together. The Doctor's state back then had been very wrong. What she had shown was not the reaction of someone with amnesia, or someone meeting Mizuki for the first time. It had been more like someone who had been separated from Mizuki for a long time and had waited for him just as long.
But now, the Doctor had returned to normal. She was just rather clingy with Mizuki. Even couples in the middle of a passionate romance would probably wonder whether they loved each other enough after seeing those two.
"Sorry. I don't know why, but when I saw Mizuki, I just couldn't control myself. I actually wanted to punch him at the time, but I couldn't bear to."
Thinking back on it now, the Doctor could tell something had been off. She did like Mizuki, that was true. Otherwise, she could not possibly have kept him on her home screen for nearly two years in her previous life. But she could not possibly have acted like that the moment they met.
(Had I met Mizuki before, too?)
Amnesia was truly irritating. The Doctor was certain she must have tried to leave behind some kind of contingency, but she simply could not remember it. Theresa had erased her memories far too thoroughly. If her memories from her previous life had not been kept separately, she would probably only be able to babble incoherently or keep sending ellipses.
"Punch him?"
"I was just really angry. I can't explain why. Sigh, forget it."
After thinking about it, the Doctor still
