Background / History
Kal'tsit personally vets Rhodes Island's elite operators and remembers each of them. When Mizuki appears in Lungmen with a genuine elite-operator ID but no matching roster entry, she treats the discrepancy as a serious security matter. The ID's record is damaged, yet its employment date appears to be in the future, deepening the mystery rather than resolving it. 13 21 25
Her first encounters with Mizuki confirm that he is extraordinarily dangerous. Mon3tr warns her of his immense vitality, and she later witnesses him unconsciously suppress Skadi and Laurentina's Seaborn blood. Kal'tsit concludes that Mizuki may rank above the Seaborn Firstborn. 24 26
While investigating Mizuki, Kal'tsit also observes that his rain suppresses Originium activity. Her medical examination later identifies his body as an extension of a Seaborn-like consciousness: his cells carry potentially lethal toxins, and even a small amount of his blood could devastate a town. 38 82
Kal'tsit gradually becomes Mizuki's ally and partner. She supports his medical treatments for Rhodes Island operators, accepts his care, and publicly identifies him as her beloved in a letter to Iberia. She is pregnant with his child. 87 96 112
Her past is bound to the Old Civilization. Priestess created the being designated AMa-10 and imprinted her with purpose; Theresa later sealed parts of Kal'tsit's memory to protect her from the Warp's Demons. Across her long life, Kal'tsit has served as a ruler, assassin, military leader, mentor, and guardian of Terra's fragile balance. 137 138
The identity known as Mr. K is connected to Kal'tsit but is not simply her ordinary self. When Mr. K's mask is removed, the exposed face is Kal'tsit's; the resulting instability, Black Crown, and Oripathy corrosion trigger a violent loss of control. Mr. K is eventually revealed as a Warp-corrupted composite containing countless consciousnesses, including Kal'tsit's. Kal'tsit's consciousness resists this control and is released when Mr. K abandons the body. 121 139
Personality
Kal'tsit is severe, disciplined, and intensely responsible. Her authority at Rhodes Island is sufficient to clear a bar merely by arriving, while her diligence has earned her the nickname “Empress Dowager Kal” among some operators. 181
Her composure conceals exhaustion accumulated over an exceptionally long life. She has watched students, companions, and ideals disappear over time, and she often doubts whether her burden of preserving civilization has meaning. 100 137
Despite her cold manner, Kal'tsit is deeply protective. Even while struggling with Mr. K's influence, she instinctively helps with Rhodes Island's paperwork rather than leave its workload to the fourteen-year-old Amiya. Her relationship with Mizuki allows her to show vulnerability, rest, and accept support she rarely seeks from anyone else. 132 100 182

Mon3tr
Mon3tr—also referred to as M3—is concealed within Kal'tsit's spine and acts as both guardian and combat organism.
- Warns Kal'tsit when it senses exceptionally dangerous lifeforms, including Mizuki. 24
- Erupts from her spine to engage hostile opponents with sharp, sickle-like limbs. 33
- Is central to her combat ability; without it, Kal'tsit considers herself only marginally stronger than an ordinary person. 138
Medical Expertise
Kal'tsit is Rhodes Island's foremost medical authority and personally assesses anomalous patients and materials.
- Confirmed that Mizuki's abnormal rain suppressed Originium activity, though its composition initially resisted analysis. 38
- Diagnosed Mizuki's toxic cells, Seaborn-like consciousness, and the catastrophic danger posed by his blood. 82
- Evaluates candidates for Mizuki's treatments and approves treatment plans for operators such as Lappland, Eyjafjalla, and Whisperain. 96
- Maintains Rhodes Island's medical work alongside Amiya, including its policy of free treatment. 67
Intelligence and Administration
- Personally authenticates elite-operator credentials using Rhodes Island's encrypted chips and authorization systems. 25
- Maintains extensive investigative resources; her records on Mizuki include housing and ticket information from nearly a year before his arrival at Rhodes Island. 103
- Handles Rhodes Island's strategic affairs jointly with the Doctor and Amiya. 181
- Recognizes political and existential threats quickly, including Columbia's interest in Mizuki and the danger posed by the Warp. 21 138
