Background / History

Yunxiao was one of four untransformed Innate Living Beings pursued by two Taiyi Golden Immortal Golden Flood Dragons in the East Sea. Jing Chu intervened, slew the dragons, purified the surrounding baleful energy, and healed the injuries suffered by Yunxiao, Qiongxiao, Bixiao, and Zhao Gongming. Yunxiao personally thanked him and later decisively agreed to travel with him toward the Primordial Land. 4

After Jing Chu shared his experience of transformation, Yunxiao and her siblings took human form. She regarded his assistance as a kindness she would never forget and joined the journey to Kunlun Mountain. 4 5

At Kunlun Mountain, Yunxiao and her companions became disciples of Shangqing Tongtian. She subsequently chose a cave dwelling beside Jing Chu's, making herself his neighbor. 6 8

During Tongtian's exposition of the Supreme Purity Dao Method, Yunxiao questioned him extensively and debated points of Dao comprehension with him. Her diligence carried her from mid-stage to late-stage Golden Immortal. 9

When Jing Chu prepared to travel the Primordial World, Yunxiao offered to accompany and protect him. He refused because the Three Skies' cultivation was too low for the journey's dangers; Yunxiao accepted his reasoning and resolved to improve until she could catch up to him. 10 14

Before departing, Jing Chu gave Yunxiao two Eight-Turn Golden Pills to assist her progress toward Taiyi Golden Immortal. Though she initially attempted to refuse them because they had been gifted to Jing Chu by Laozi, she accepted them and entered seclusion to refine them. 15

Appearance

Yunxiao is a peerlessly beautiful immortal maiden whose appearance closely resembles Qiongxiao and Bixiao. Her white attire and surrounding clouds give her a pure, immaculate presence, while her expression retains an unmistakable dignity and seriousness. 5

Beneath her gentle manner, she is exceptionally strong-willed and single-minded in pursuing the Dao. She is willing to contemplate difficult principles for hundreds or thousands of years and pressed Tongtian with enough questions during his lecture to leave even her Quasi-Sage master weary. 9

She is also considerate and mature. Yunxiao volunteered to help Jing Chu rather than leave work to Bixiao, watched over him during his cultivation, and accepted his decision not to take the Three Skies on a dangerous journey despite her own wish to accompany him. 9 10 14
