In the blink of an eye, he crossed ten thousand miles. After a journey of a thousand years, he finally returned to the Western Lands.
Though the spiritual energy was still sparse and the heavenly and earthly spiritual essence remained weak, Zhu Yin's heart was calm.
This was the root of his Dao, the home of his heart.
Another three hundred years passed before he reached Spirit Platform Mountain.
As he passed through the mountain-protecting formation, a rich surge of vitality washed over him, relaxing his entire body.
Spirit Platform Mountain had now reached a critical point. It needed only one final step to advance into a Grotto-heaven Blessed Land.
"Welcome home, Master!" The two boy attendants hurried forward and bowed.
Zhu Yin smiled and nodded. "You have cared well for the plants on this mountain. You have worked hard. You have also followed me for many years, so today, I shall give you names."
"You shall be called Wuxin, and you shall be called Wuqing."
The two boy attendants were overjoyed and knelt to offer their thanks.
Watching their departing figures, Zhu Yin smiled faintly to himself.
"Those with hearts have many worries; those with feelings grow weary. May they henceforth be without heart or feeling, pure and at ease."
After drinking a cup of clear bamboo-leaf tea, admiring the mountain scenery, and resting for half a month, he began arranging his harvest.
First, he channeled the Innate Spirit Spring into the mountain to nourish the Primordial Mother Tea Tree.
Then he personally reclaimed a spiritual field, planted the Enlightenment Tea Tree he had brought back from Buzhou Mountain, fertilized and watered it, and infused it with Water of Vitality.
The instant the tea tree took root, immense vitality and heavenly and earthly spiritual energy surged into Spirit Platform Mountain. The entire mountain range began expanding, new spiritual veins were born, and its natural fortune rapidly intensified.
Spirit Platform Mountain officially advanced into a Low-Grade Grotto-heaven Blessed Land!
A powerful blessing of fortune descended upon him. Zhu Yin felt utterly clear within, his cultivation became smoother, his primordial spirit grew more lucid, and his understanding of Heaven and Earth Laws advanced another step.
He focused on sensing the changes in his Dao Field and remained there for several years.
Once everything had stabilized, he reclaimed new spiritual fields and planted all the acquired spiritual roots, exotic flowers, and rare herbs he had gathered from various places.
The most precious among them was a Post-Heaven High-Grade Spiritual Root called the Moonlit Pearl Tree. It could absorb Yin Moonlight Essence and bore twelve moon pearls every three thousand years, which could nourish the primordial spirit.
Several decades later, the spiritual plants in the fields flourished, and the vitality and spiritual energy of all Spirit Platform Mountain rose by another great margin.
Elsewhere.
Deep within Chaos, at Purple Cloud Palace.
Hongjun Dao Ancestor had just finished preaching the Dao and was answering the questions of the Three Thousand Cultivators.
He accepted the Three Pure Ones, Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti as disciples in succession, bestowing upon them precious treasures and Primordial Purple Qi.
The Three Pure Ones received Innate Supreme Treasures; Nuwa received the Mountains and Rivers Statecraft Diagram and the Red Embroidered Ball; Jieyin received the Twelve-Petaled Merit Golden Lotus and the Green Lotus Treasure Banner; Zhunti received the Empowered Divine Pestle.
Though they were merely registered disciples, receiving such treasures already moved them to tears. How could they dare voice any complaints?
When the other cultivators saw this, they too began crying and pleading. Helpless, Hongjun set up Treasure-Dividing Cliff.
The Three Thousand Cultivators rushed forward in a swarm, but spiritual treasures chose their masters. Everything depended on fate.
The Three Pure Ones gained the most, followed by Nuwa. Zhunti and Jieyin gained comparatively little, receiving only several mid-grade spiritual treasures, such as Jieyin's Treasure Canopy, the Seven-Treasure Dharma Lotus, the Demon-Subduing Pestle, and so on.
After everyone had taken their treasures, Hongjun inverted Treasure-Dividing Cliff. The remaining spiritual treasures transformed into streams of light and flew toward every corner of the Primordial Wilderness, seeking those truly fated to possess them.
At Spirit Platform Mountain in the Western Lands, Zhu Yin had just sorted through a pile of precious materials and was preparing to refine magical treasures. Suddenly, his heart stirred, and he raised his head toward the horizon.
Three streams of light sped toward him from the distance. He immediately activated the mountain-protecting grand formation and opened a passage, allowing the arrivals to enter smoothly.
He accepted the three magical treasures, delight appearing on his face. The treasure distribution at Purple Cloud Palace had ended, and ownerless treasures had followed Treasure-Dividing Cliff into various parts of the Primordial Wilderness. By chance, he had obtained three Innate Spiritual Treasures.
One was the Wither-and-Bloom Whip, a high-grade spiritual treasure containing the power of vegetation's withering and flourishing. It could sever vitality and also reveal the Dao of life's cycle and death.
One was the Pure-Cleansing Bell, a mid-grade spiritual treasure. Its ringing could protect the primordial spirit from evil demons and help one focus more deeply in cultivation.
The last was the Vitality Cauldron, also a mid-grade spiritual treasure. It was suited for pill refinement and artifact forging, and was especially useful for harmonizing the qi of plants and trees.
Though there were only three, Zhu Yin did not consider them too few. They were unexpected gains, after all. Moreover, each had its own wondrous use and suited his current path of cultivation.
His Natal Magical Treasure, the Six-Purities Bamboo, was not an offensive treasure, while the Wither-and-Bloom Whip perfectly made up for his lack of combat power. The Pure-Cleansing Bell could protect his divine sense, and the Vitality Cauldron could assist him in refining pills and treasures. He was overjoyed by them all.
The Vitality Cauldron in particular held extraordinary meaning for him. As a spiritual root that had reached the Transformation Stage, he preferred stillness and disliked activity. The Western Lands were already barren, and he did not enjoy dealing with others. With this treasure, he could remain secluded and refine treasures while cultivating, without having to travel everywhere.
He put away the three treasures and turned his gaze to the dozen or so magical treasures of varying shapes in his palm.
These were spoils he had obtained by killing other Demon Clan members and cultivators during his travels through the Eastern Lands. Most were mid-grade spiritual treasures, though several were exceptional.
For example, the Wasteland Heaven Halberd was a high-grade spiritual treasure obtained from the Taiyi Flood Dragon he had slain in his first battle. Though White Lotus had protected him and he was still injured in that battle, he ultimately acquired the flood dragon's magical treasure and hoard, and even destroyed the Crystal Palace in passing.
Then there was the Flamefire Pearl, also a high-grade spiritual treasure, which he had obtained after fighting a Double-Headed Fire Bird. He had gone all out in that battle and even used the Great Freedom Nirvana Divine Ability before defeating his opponent.
After returning to Spirit Platform Mountain, Zhu Yin did not linger. Instead, he flew to Mount Sumeru to pay respects to his master, who would soon return.
A hundred years later, he returned to Mount Sumeru, the ancestral vein. He first caught up with the two boy attendants, Jinyi and Baiyi, and gave them some gifts. Then he returned to his residence, Immaculate Hall, where he continued his daily cultivation and tended to the plants.
Several hundred years later, golden light shot into the heavens, and White Lotus bloomed in the sky. The two Sages, Zhunti and Jieyin, had finally returned, and Zhu Yin personally led the boy attendants to greet them.
"Congratulations, Master and Martial Uncle, on returning from hearing the Dao. Your cultivation has risen to another level!"
Seeing that Zhu Yin had already cultivated to the Late Taiyi Stage, with treasure light faintly gleaming around him and powerful fortune upon him, the two great powers smiled even more broadly.
After they sat beside the Lotus Pond, Zhu Yin reported all his experiences over the years. He only briefly mentioned treasures such as the Enlightenment Tea Tree, Treasure-Gathering Basin, and Fallen-Treasure Coin, focusing instead on his conflicts with the Ox Monster and Rat Monster, as well as how he had resolved the karmic entanglements.
Both Zhunti and Jieyin were very satisfied after hearing this. They believed Zhu Yin had good fortune and deep blessings. As for his grudge with the Slate-Horn Azure Ox Clan, they did not take it seriously at all.
The Slate-Horn Azure Ox Clan's patriarch was merely at the Early Great Principle Stage. How could he dare oppose them? Besides, Zhu Yin possessed deep talent and had been personally taught by them. In the future, he would surely surpass him.
Zhunti even specifically comforted him:
"With us guarding the Western Lands, that Slate-Horn Azure Ox will not dare act rashly. Cultivate with peace of mind. Besides, the Heavenly Court was in the wrong to begin with. Once you attain the Great Principle, the Slate-Horn Clan will naturally let the past go."
Zhu Yin naturally did not take the matter to heart either. He had only brought it up to remind his two elders.
When he heard that his master and martial uncle had acknowledged Hongjun Dao Ancestor as their master, received Primordial Purple Qi, and had hope of becoming Sages, his face filled with joy as he offered repeated congratulations. Though he had long been mentally prepared, he still could not hide his excitement upon truly hearing it.
That was no ordinary breakthrough, but the pinnacle of the Primordial Wilderness!
