The Cat Person Before Them Couldn't Be...

When Harry and Ron returned, they saw Hermione frantically helping Kane straighten his clothes and the messy fur on his head.

Unfortunately, that fur simply would not lie flat. It was like it had been sprayed with hairspray—standing as stiffly as could be.

After fussing with it for a while, Hermione realized that she was probably wasting her effort. She turned to other methods to make Kane, who had been tragically catified after she accidentally mixed up human hair and cat fur, feel a little better.

For example, she scratched the pair of stiff triangular ears now growing atop Kane's head with her fingers. Kane humored her, pursing his mouth into a W shape, closing his eyes, and enjoying it.

"So, Merlin, what is this?" Harry stared at the scene in confusion. He turned to look at Ron, then behind them.

So Kane had not secretly gone out with them just now?

As if he had seen the question in Harry's mind, Kane shrugged. "Well, it's not just my head."

After saying that, he obligingly stretched out his hand. "Obviously, I've turned into a cat all over."

"Cool! Does that mean you can go to class without clothes?" Ron exclaimed.

In an instant, everyone in the tiny room stared at Ron in shock. Compared to Kane suddenly becoming a cat, Ron's earth-shattering remark was far more shocking.

With some helplessness, Kane pulled the three long tufts of fur running from his chin to his neck out from inside his collar and let them rest outside his clothes.

Unlike Kane, who was trying to make himself more comfortable, Hermione released his ears and stepped back slightly to examine the benefactor who had saved her
