"Hmph!" Red Cloud gave a cold snort, showing his displeasure. "By acting in such a way, Fellow Daoist, you create needless slaughter and stir up needless trouble. You will not be favored by the Heavenly Dao, and in the future, you may well be forsaken by it, your billions of years of cultivation turned into nothing but a painted cake!"
Red Cloud was a famously kind old man of the Primordial Wilderness, and his cultivation had also reached the mid-stage Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm. Ordinary people would give him some measure of respect when they encountered him. Yet now he had run into the unruly Kunpeng—truly, he had met his natural nemesis!
Kunpeng was inherently someone who feared neither Heaven nor Earth! Other than Mu Jizi, who was both teacher and friend to him, whose words he might heed a little, he paid no attention to anyone else! If Red Cloud could get anything favorable out of him after lecturing him like this, it would truly be a testament to Red Cloud's skill!
"Not favored by the Heavenly Dao?" Kunpeng sneered, utterly unconcerned. He glanced at Red Cloud before saying, "Do you not know that the Heavenly Dao is unkind, treating all things as straw dogs? We cultivators comprehend the Heavenly Dao in order to walk against Heaven, stealing the luck of Heaven and Earth. If we worry about this and fear that, how can we understand our true hearts, distinguish right from wrong, and seek the Great Dao?"
Though Kunpeng's words were brief, every word was a pearl. Mu Jizi nodded again and again as he listened. All his painstaking efforts over these years had not been wasted after all!
At that moment, however, Red Cloud's brows furrowed tightly. His Dao heart seemed to waver slightly, but he too was a mighty being with great supernatural powers. In an instant, he wiped away the distracting thoughts within his Dao heart, his expression returning to calm. "In that case, neither of us can convince the other. Why not have a match here and now? What say you?"
"Excellent!" Kunpeng was overjoyed. He had always been bloodthirsty and battle-hungry. Since creating Demon Script and advancing his cultivation through merit, aside from that frustrating battle with Mu Jizi not long ago, he had yet to fight anyone else! Now that Red Cloud had come knocking of his own accord, he was naturally delighted!
Moreover, in his previous battle with Mu Jizi, Kunpeng had been restrained by Mu Jizi's true form and divine abilities, unable to display the combat power he should have possessed. Naturally, he had wanted to find someone else to exchange blows with afterward. Yet there were too few Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal experts in the Primordial Wilderness, so he had never had the chance. But now, just as he had dozed off, someone had brought him a pillow; what he worried over had come right to him!
Naturally, Kunpeng would not let such an opportunity slip away. Without waiting for Red Cloud to say more, he took a single stride into the skies, clearly unable to wait any longer!
Seeing this, Red Cloud was in no hurry. He stepped leisurely into the air, leaving Mu Jizi standing on the ground, smiling as he watched events unfold!
The two stood facing one another in the void. Invisible auras drifted with the wind, followed by the eruption of two distinct imposing presences. Like two deities, each occupied half the heavens!
"Fellow Daoist, please!" Kunpeng's heart was already in his throat. The moment Red Cloud crossed to the opposite side, he erupted with the aura of a peak Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal and pressed it toward him!
"Hmph!" Red Cloud snorted coldly, his expression somewhat ugly. Feeling Kunpeng's vast mana, bitterness rose in his heart. He had never expected that casually meddling in such a small matter would provoke this fearless battle. He truly had rotten luck to the extreme!
Yet Red Cloud was someone who cared deeply about face. Since he had spoken the words himself, he naturally could not go back on them. With a flash, he pointed with his sword fingers, turning into an afterimage as he calmly struck toward Kunpeng!
That sword finger seemed like a weak ray of white light, yet endless laws were brewing within it. The instant the finger shot forth, the air erupted with explosive cracks from its violent trembling!
At that moment, Kunpeng's eyes lit up. He met it with a palm strike. That palm was like a blade or axe cleaving straight down, gleaming as it transformed into a dazzling river of stars. It slashed down as though Kunpeng were spreading his wings, its sharp force making the air hum faintly!
Boom!
With a violent explosion, blade met sword, palm met finger. Red Cloud felt his fingers go numb as his finger bones cracked and burst, breaking inch by inch while blood streamed down!
"Fellow Daoist, if this is all you can do, then do not blame this poor Daoist for being ruthless!" Kunpeng's voice rang in Red Cloud's mind. His next strike had already arrived!
"Hmph! Let you run wild for a while first!" Red Cloud snorted, his body drifting away with strange, ethereal footwork as he casually evaded Kunpeng's incoming palm strike. His words refused to yield an inch!
"Oh? Could it be that you still have some other means?" Kunpeng did not care in the slightest, as though he were waiting. With a leap, his speed suddenly increased!
"Whoosh~~~"
His leg was like a whip. As he closed in on Red Cloud, Kunpeng swept out with a howling kick, viciously lashing toward Red Cloud's soccer-ball-sized head! It had to be said that without Mu Jizi's innate Space Lock divine ability, Kunpeng, displaying the full strength of a peak Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal, was simply too powerful. Without even transforming into his true form, one kick was enough for his tyrannical force to send ripples through space, which then formed like a prison and tightly trapped Red Cloud!
At that moment, Red Cloud could even feel that Heaven and Earth had been enveloped by Kunpeng's whip-like kick. No matter how he moved, he would have to face that terrifying blow!
Although Red Cloud, as the Primordial Wilderness's kindly old man, was not skilled at fighting, when faced with a true battle, he was no easy opponent either. Seeing that he could not evade the strike, he immediately waved his hand and slapped Kunpeng's ankle!
Boom!
A thunderous blast resounded across the heavens!
This battle between Kunpeng and Red Cloud was far fiercer than Kunpeng's battle with Mu Jizi. They fought without restraint, with no other concerns in mind!
With both of them going all out, their clash produced a bang, and the violent shockwave tore through space with a ripping sound, splitting open a long gash!
At this very moment, Antelope Old Monster's former subordinates stood dumbstruck amid the mountains and forests, staring at the scene in the void!
The battle taking place in the sky was far too horrifying. A few seemingly minor collisions had already produced spatial cracks. Such power was beyond anything they could imagine!
The battle was too fast! Its power was too great! Right above the heads of those little demons, it was being vividly played out! They immediately felt immensely fortunate!
Boom!
Another collision sent threadlike spatial cracks spreading through the void!
"That's a spatial crack! A spatial crack!" one little demon cried out foolishly. To tear space apart within the Primordial Wilderness required, at the very least, a Primordial Unity Golden Immortal. How could these little demons ever have seen such a thing in their daily lives?
Tearing apart the space of the Primordial Wilderness was something they had only heard of in legends!
"The enormous suction produced by those torn spatial cracks did not even drag away that person with Loose Immortal cultivation!" The little demons were even more dumbfounded!
"That Loose Immortal was just kidnapped by us!" The group of little demons could not describe what they were feeling!
"Hmph! Stop thinking about it. How could he be a Loose Immortal? Judging by how casually those two are fighting in the void, they are most likely Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal experts!" A little demon suddenly said, "Such experts are not people we can oppose. Hurry and run again! If we wait until those two finish fighting and they suddenly remember what happened earlier, our little lives may be finished!"
The little demons discussed it heatedly. After glancing at the battle in the void, they said no more and fled at top speed!
