Although Yuan Tian had recovered the memories of his previous ten lives, memories were still only memories, like knowledge written in books. You had to read them and understand them; otherwise, reading them was the same as not reading them at all. Yuan Tian was currently in precisely such a state. He possessed boundless knowledge of battle, yet lacked practical experience. Fighting opponents weaker than himself was no problem, but if he encountered someone with rich combat experience whose cultivation was no lower than his own, Yuan Tian would likely suffer a loss. He knew his own shortcomings well: he lacked practical experience. This was also one of the reasons he had come to the Primordial Wilderness to temper himself, and the dozen or so Dragon Clan members before him were undoubtedly excellent "targets" for his training. The cultivation art Yuan Tian practiced was called the Ninefold Soul-Origin Mystic Art. Although the Ninefold Soul-Origin Mystic Art did not focus primarily on cultivating the physical body, body cultivation was still an indispensable part of it. Once the bodily cultivation of the Ninefold Soul-Origin Mystic Art succeeded, one could obtain the divine body known as the Eternal Imperishable Body. Speaking of divine bodies, one had to mention the three great divine bodies of the Primordial Wilderness.
The three great divine bodies of the Primordial Wilderness were the Ancestral Shaman True Body of the Ancestral Shamans, the Heavenly Dao Dharma Body of the Sages, and the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body cultivated through Black-Yellow Merit. Each of the three divine bodies had its own advantages and wondrous qualities. Let me explain them one by one.
To speak of the Ancestral Shaman True Body, one had to speak of the Chaos True Body, because the Ancestral Shaman True Body could be considered a scaled-down version of the Chaos True Body. The Chaos True Body was cultivated by the Primordial Chaos Demon Gods using Primordial Chaos Qi, making them imperishable through ten thousand calamities and granting them boundless might. As far as Yuan Tian knew, only Primordial Chaos Demon Gods could cultivate the Chaos True Body, because others could neither absorb Primordial Chaos Qi nor easily withstand its corrosive nature. Moreover, the Chaos True Body was suppressed by the Heavenly Dao within the Primordial Wilderness. Even a Primordial Chaos Demon God entering the Primordial Wilderness would be suppressed by the Heavenly Dao. Thus, using the Chaos True Body passed down by the great god Pangu, the Witch Clan created the Ancestral Shaman True Body, one suited to the Primordial World. The Ancestral Shaman True Body allowed the Witch Clan to absorb the Killing Intent of heaven and earth to strengthen their physical bodies, making their flesh incomparably formidable in the hope of attaining an imperishable body. At its peak, the Ancestral Shaman True Body could reach the strength of a peak Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure, infinitely close to an Innate Supreme Treasure. Like the Chaos True Body, it possessed boundless might. The Ancestral Shamans relied on the Ancestral Shaman True Body to dominate the Primordial Wilderness for an entire Calamity Cycle, ruling the land alone.
The Heavenly Dao Dharma Body was the Dharma body granted by the Heavenly Dao when a Sage became a Sage by imprinting his Primordial Spirit into it. Although the Heavenly Dao Dharma Body was not as physically formidable as the Ancestral Shaman True Body or the Chaos True Body, its bodily strength still lay between that of a Mid-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure and a Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure, stronger than the physical bodies of most people. Of course, physical strength was not the Heavenly Dao Dharma Body's main function. Its true function was to remain unwearied through ten thousand calamities and never die in the flesh. In other words, even if you killed a Sage's physical body—naturally, that was an extraordinarily difficult thing to do—and even if you succeeded, the Heavenly Dao would still aid his rebirth, ensuring that he could never be killed so long as he remained within the domain of the Heavenly Dao. Of course, all of this applied only within the Heavenly Dao's domain. Once outside it, no one knew whether such a body would still be unwearied through ten thousand calamities and immortal in the flesh, for such a thing had never happened. Sages were not made of clay for others to knead as they pleased. Under normal circumstances, they were the ones kneading others for amusement.
The Black-Yellow Imperishable Body could be called the strongest among the three great divine bodies. Upon reaching the Minor Accomplishment Realm, its physical strength could rival that of the Heavenly Dao Dharma Body. Upon reaching Great Accomplishment, it was even thirty percent stronger than the enhanced Chaos True Body of the Ancestral Shaman True Body, making it the foremost of the three great divine bodies. Yet the indispensable requirement for cultivating the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body was Black-Yellow Merit. Black-Yellow Merit possessed the effect of being impervious to all arts. The most famous example was Taishang Laozi's Heaven-Earth Black-Yellow Exquisite Pagoda. That thing was a super turtle shell, said to be unbeatable once suspended above one's head, with peerless defense. Once the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body was cultivated successfully, it could likewise render one impervious to all arts, turning one into a humanoid magic treasure.
It was not a Heavenly Dao Dharma Body, yet surpassed a Heavenly Dao Dharma Body. However, cultivating the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body required a sea-like amount of Merit. The Black-Yellow Merit needed merely for the Minor Accomplishment Realm was no less than the amount of Merit required for a Sage to become a Sage. Who in the entire Primordial Wilderness possessed such vast Merit? No one did. Perhaps Laozi did—or more accurately, perhaps Laozi's Heaven-Earth Black-Yellow Exquisite Pagoda did. As long as the Black-Yellow Merit Qi within the Heaven-Earth Black-Yellow Exquisite Pagoda was extracted, one could cultivate the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body. But then the Heaven-Earth Black-Yellow Exquisite Pagoda would be destroyed. Who would be willing to destroy the number one defensive Supreme Treasure under heaven? Furthermore, the Heaven-Earth Black-Yellow Exquisite Pagoda was also first-rate at suppressing Fortune. Laozi would be even less willing to part with it. Thus, the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body had always existed only in legend. Having finished with the three great divine bodies of the Primordial Wilderness, let us speak of Yuan Tian's Eternal Imperishable Body.
The Eternal Imperishable Body did not use the chaos attribute of Primordial Chaos Qi like the Chaos True Body to make the physical body imperishable, nor did it use Black-Yellow Merit like the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body to become impervious to all arts. Yet the Eternal Imperishable Body was not inferior to the Chaos True Body or the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body in the slightest. The Eternal Imperishable Body used the spiritual qi of heaven and earth over an Infinite Kalpa to temper one's physical body. Its ultimate effect was to grant one both the attributes of the Chaos True Body and the Black-Yellow Imperishable Body: an imperishable body and immunity to all arts. But how immense was the spiritual qi accumulated over an Infinite Kalpa? It could even make the body into a Sage. This showed just how difficult it was.
Yuan Tian had cultivated for nearly two billion years. His physical body had been tempered for nearly two billion years by the spiritual qi driven by the Ninefold Soul-Origin Mystic Art. Even so, his Eternal Imperishable Body had only barely reached the Minor Accomplishment Realm. Reaching Great Accomplishment remained a distant prospect, more difficult even than becoming a Sage. Still, Yuan Tian's physical body was already extremely powerful. Its strength had reached that of a Mid-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure, roughly equivalent to the bodily strength of a Heavenly Dao Dharma Body. To injure Yuan Tian's body, one needed at the very least cultivation no weaker than his own, as well as a Spirit Treasure of Mid-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure rank or above. Alternatively, one would need a Spirit Treasure like the Witch-Slaying Sword, one specifically designed to harm physical bodies, to wound Yuan Tian's body as it was now.
During the cultivation of the Eternal Imperishable Body, aside from requiring the spiritual qi of an Infinite Kalpa to temper one's physical body, one could also increase one's bodily strength through battle. Through fighting, one could temper the strength of one's physical body and thereby accelerate the rate at which it was refined.
Now that Yuan Tian's Eternal Imperishable Body had reached Minor Accomplishment, he urgently needed battle to test his results and to increase the strength of his physical body. The Dragon Clan members before him were undoubtedly the best "test subjects" and battle targets. Therefore, these Dragon Clan members were destined for misery.
