Background / History

The Dragon Clan was among the six strongest races of the Primordial Wilderness, alongside the Phoenix, Qilin, Black Tortoise, White Tiger, and Vermilion Bird Clans. It dwelled in the seas and, with the Black Tortoise Clan's support, became strong enough to claim leadership over all scaled and armored creatures. 7

Ancestral Dragon vowed before the Great Dao that the clan would safeguard the Primordial Wilderness and govern the four seas. The Great Dao accepted the oath and bestowed immense merit, greatly increasing the clan's fortune and strength. The Dragon Clan emerged as the strongest of the three great clans, though the Phoenix and Qilin Clans remained close enough in power to preserve a three-way balance. 7

The clan's leading figures were reincarnated Primordial Chaos Demon Gods who abandoned their Chaos True Bodies to survive Pangu's opening of heaven and earth. Ancestral Dragon is counted among the ninety top-tier Innate Fiendgods. 7 36

Before his transformation, Pang Heng offended a Dragon Clan branch. The clan pursued him repeatedly, took his companion Spirit Treasure, the Sea-Calming Pearl, wounded him, and left a kill order in effect. 17

Appearance

In their true forms, Dragon Clan members are massive scaled dragons that can fill the sky like dark clouds. The thirteen dragons encountered by Yuan Tian and Pang Heng did not transform into human form. 19

• Horns like a deer's, head like a camel's, and mouth like a donkey's. 19

Story Role / Major Arcs

Rise as a Primordial Overlord

The Dragon Clan's oath to the Great Dao establishes it as the ruler of the four seas and the foremost race among scaled and armored creatures. Its accumulated merit elevates Ancestral Dragon to the peak of the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm and places the clan among the three dominant powers of the Primordial Wilderness. 7

Pursuit of Pang Heng

The clan hunts Pang Heng after he offends one of its branches. It strips him of the Sea-Calming Pearl, injures him severely, and continues to seek his death even after he transforms. 17

Battle with Yuan Tian and Pang Heng

Thirteen dragons intercept Yuan Tian and Pang Heng, with Dragon Eighth recognizing Pang Heng as the escaped crab wanted by the clan. The dragons attempt to kill Pang Heng en masse, then divide their forces between Pang Heng and Yuan Tian after Yuan Tian intervenes. 19 21

Yuan Tian defeats seven Dragon Clan members while using only a fraction of his strength, while Pang Heng ultimately kills Dragon Eighth in their decisive duel. Dragon Thirteen also dies during the conflict. 22 23

Aftermath

Yuan Tian refines the corpses of Dragon Eighth and Dragon Thirteen into the top-grade Acquired Spirit Treasure Golden Dragon Scissors. He then captures eleven unconscious Dragon Clan members with the Five-Elements Heaven-Seizing Hand rather than killing them. 23 24

Yuan Tian and Pang Heng withdraw from Dragon Clan territory because an all-out war against the entire clan is not yet viable. 24
