Great Dao Secret Record

Yuan Tian was deeply troubled by his inability to transform. Before he knew it, he had sunk his mind into his Primordial Spirit. Suddenly, his heart jolted—he had found the chief culprit behind his transmigration. It was the book that had emerged from the black hole, now lying quietly within his Primordial Spirit. Yuan Tian had no way to deal with the book at present. Its exterior gleamed golden, and four words were written across its cover: Great Dao Secret Record. Though Yuan Tian did not recognize those characters, the information conveyed by his Divine Sense told him they read "Great Dao Secret Record." The script carried an air of mystery, sanctity, and unfathomable profundity. Without realizing it, Yuan Tian extended his Divine Sense toward the book.

The instant Yuan Tian's Divine Sense touched the book, an immense flood of information suddenly surged into him. It came too abruptly, too swiftly. Before Yuan Tian could react, the transmission was already complete.

By the time Yuan Tian had finally absorbed the contents of the information, he understood the book's origins and properties.

The book was indeed called the Great Dao Secret Record. The Great Dao Secret Record was a Fortune Supreme Treasure beneath the Great Dao. It was neither Acquired nor Innate, nor was it among the five elements of Primordial Chaos. It possessed neither offensive nor defensive power, but it had three functions. First, it recorded all matters and objects between Heaven and Earth that it knew of. It contained strange tales and extraordinary events from throughout Heaven and Earth, encompassing almost everything. Second, the Great Dao Secret Record contained a world within it, a world possessing boundless Primordial Chaos Qi. Its final function was to suppress Fortune, ensuring that its owner's Fortune would not scatter. In terms of suppressing Fortune alone, the Great Dao Secret Record was unquestionably the number one Supreme Treasure. Thus, it was also known as a Fortune Supreme Treasure.

After learning the Great Dao Secret Record's details, Yuan Tian no longer felt any of his earlier hatred. This was a Fortune Supreme Treasure—one that could be counted among the very best in the entire Primordial Wilderness. By a twist of fate, it had fallen into his hands and had even become his own accompanying Spirit Treasure, the kind that could be used directly without refinement. How could Yuan Tian possibly still hate the Great Dao Secret Record? He was too delighted for that.

There was also a need to explain why the Great Dao Secret Record had appeared on Earth. After the Primordial Wilderness shattered, it split into countless regions: the Four Divine Continents—Eastern Victory Divine Continent, Western Ox Continent, Southern Jambudvipa Continent, and Northern Kuru Continent—as well as three thousand Small Worlds. The Great Dao Secret Record appeared at random within the various Small Worlds to record information about each world. This time, it had gone to Earth to record information. Yet the moment it emerged from the black hole, it had the rotten luck to run into Yuan Tian, who had been cultivating. As a result, it had transmigrated alongside him into the Primordial World.

If the Great Dao Secret Record had possessed intelligence, it would surely have hated Yuan Tian to death. As the saying went, a good dog did not block the road. You were a perfectly good person, so why were you blocking the way? Well, now you were dead, and you had even dragged me along to transmigrate to the Primordial World. I have basically experienced this Primordial World once already—what am I coming here again for? Aren't you simply stirring up trouble for no reason? Speaking of the Great Dao Secret Record, one had to speak of magical treasures. And speaking of magical treasures, one had to speak of their ranks.

Magical treasures could be divided into three categories: Mortal Treasures, Spirit Treasures, and Supreme Treasures.

The vast majority of Mortal Treasures were refined and used by those who had not yet become immortals. They could be divided into Dharmic Instruments, Treasure Instruments, and Spirit Instruments. Only above Spirit Instruments were there Spirit Treasures. Mortal Treasures were relatively weak, of course, but that was only in comparison to immortals. To mortals, they were divine weapons and peerless tools.

Spirit Treasures all possessed spirits. Once a Spirit Treasure acknowledged an owner, it could be stored within the body. Spirit Treasures could further be divided into Acquired Spirit Treasures and Innate Spirit Treasures, and each category was divided into four grades: low-grade, middle-grade, high-grade, and supreme-grade. Thus, there were two categories and eight grades.

Innate Spirit Treasures were naturally nurtured by the Great Dao from the moment Pangu began opening Heaven until Pangu finished opening Heaven. Acquired Spirit Treasures were naturally formed or artificially refined after Pangu opened Heaven. Innate Spirit Treasures were not necessarily stronger than Acquired Spirit Treasures; different Spirit Treasures had different levels of power, and an Acquired Spirit Treasure could very well be stronger than an Innate Spirit Treasure. Although Innate Spirit Treasures were not necessarily more powerful than Acquired Spirit Treasures, there was one respect in which they were superior: Innate Spirit Treasures contained Great Dao Laws. By obtaining an Innate Spirit Treasure, one could use it to comprehend the Great Dao Laws within it—something Acquired Spirit Treasures lacked. Furthermore, Innate Spirit Treasures were not easily destroyed. As long as an Innate Spirit Treasure was not completely destroyed, it could one day recover; only the amount of time required differed. This, too, was something Acquired Spirit Treasures could not compare with.

Supreme Treasures could be said to be enhanced versions of Spirit Treasures. They too were divided into Acquired Supreme Treasures and Innate Supreme Treasures. Every Supreme Treasure possessed unmatched might. More importantly, every Innate Supreme Treasure could suppress its owner's Fortune; the only difference was the effectiveness with which it did so.

Besides the classifications above, there were also several other kinds of magical treasures.

For example, Merit Treasures, Destiny-Responsive Treasures, and Fortune Treasures. Merit Treasures were formed by infusing Merit into a magical treasure to raise its power, and they could also suppress one's own Fortune. Notable Merit Treasures included Heaven and Earth's Mystic Yellow Exquisite Pagoda, the Primordial Measuring Ruler, and so on. A famous Destiny-Responsive Treasure was the Kongtong Seal, which emerged in response to destiny when the Human Clan was flourishing. Fortune Treasures, meanwhile, were the rarest category of magical treasure. As far as Yuan Tian knew, the Great Dao Secret Record was the only Fortune Treasure.

Though the Great Dao Secret Record had neither offensive nor defensive power, were there not plenty of treasures with offensive and defensive power in the Primordial Wilderness? Who needed this one?

The Great Dao Secret Record recorded all the information it knew. This included information on cultivation techniques, and naturally, information on magical treasures as well—the information on when treasures would emerge. With news of a treasure's appearance, why fear having no treasures? As the saying went, "A hooligan is not frightening; what is frightening is a hooligan with culture." Oh, no, that was wrong. It should be, "Knowledge is the foremost productive force of science and technology." Only with knowledge could one possess other things, because ignorance was the most terrifying thing of all. With the Great Dao Secret Record, did that not mean possessing countless Spirit Treasures? Yuan Tian seemed to see innumerable Spirit Treasures flying toward him.

As for the Great Dao Secret Record's second function, its spatial world, Yuan Tian had yet to think of how to use it. Still, it was a world in its own right. Yuan Tian had a feeling that this world would certainly be useful to him in the future, so he could set that function aside for now. Of course, even if he did not want to set it aside, he had no choice.

The third function was to suppress one's own Fortune. This function was excellent. Across the entire Primordial Wilderness, there were certainly fewer than twenty treasures capable of suppressing Fortune, and their effects varied. Since the Great Dao Secret Record had been classified as a Fortune Supreme Treasure, its effectiveness at suppressing Fortune was undoubtedly among the very best. There was no question about it.

Of course, no matter how happy Yuan Tian was now, it was useless, because he had yet to transform. Everything would have to wait until after his Transformation. Thus, Yuan Tian once again began to fret over the matter of Transformation.
