Background

Xiao Miao is an orphan who becomes a Traveler of All Heavens at eighteen. He begins with borrowed Fate Points and awakens the unprecedented orange-grade talent Fate Dice, which he immediately recognizes as both highly powerful and highly luck-dependent. 1

His first traversal places him in Raccoon City during the zombie outbreak. Using a reporter identity supplied for his mission, he encounters Jill Valentine, draws his first combat skills and Character Cards from her fate, and joins her escape from the city. 1 2

After returning from his first traversal, Xiao Miao confronts the Corpse-Eating Gang for ransacking his home, obtains compensation, and joins the Jade River Society. He sells detailed intelligence on the Resident Evil world to the society archive for 1,500 Fate Points. 34 35

After remaining in the merged apocalypse setting, Xiao Miao and Alice investigate Umbrella’s Ocean Science Research Institute. They abduct and interrogate figures connected to the Shido household, obtain weapons, infiltrate the institute, and expose Umbrella’s planned Dead Body Virus deployment in Tokyo. 25 26 28

During the escape from Tokonosu City, Xiao Miao rescues Saeko Busujima, reveals that he is a Traveler of All Heavens, and offers her the chance to travel with him through a soul contract. Saeko accepts, becoming a magical being linked to Xiao Miao through Enslavement Magic. 31 32 33

Return and Jade River Society

Back in the Main World, Xiao Miao forces the Corpse-Eating Gang to compensate him for looting his home. He then joins the Jade River Society and earns Fate Points by contributing Resident Evil intelligence to its archive. 34 35

Assassin Career and the Paris Operation

During his second traversal, Xiao Miao enters the Continental Hotel and becomes a registered assassin. He gains recognition by completing Brian Mills’s hostage-rescue commission, eliminating the Albanian Mafia’s leadership, and leaking the locations of kidnapped girls to the media and embassies. 36 39 43 44

His actions earn him the title “Butcher of Paris” and widespread notoriety among assassins. 44 45

Brotherhood Conflict

Xiao Miao accepts work from Mr. and Mrs. Smith, clears the armed forces of two assassin organizations in three minutes, and later forms an alliance with Cross against the Brotherhood. 46 47
