Background

Feng Wuhen was an orphan raised through the charity of the villagers of Green Mountain Village. According to the village chief, he appeared in the village after a storm; before entering Mount Grand Mystery, he lived in poverty and wore patched clothing. 1 5 15

He came to Mount Grand Mystery to seek apprenticeship alongside Meng Hongying and Shen Ziheng. He passed the Path of Heart-Questioning with extraordinary speed, seeing through illusions of his desire for parents, his near-death fear of freezing, and his attachments. 2

His aptitude test revealed a supreme-grade wind spiritual root, super-grade bone structure, and exceptional comprehension. Chu Moqing accepted him as his personal disciple and brought him to Nine Heavens Peak, which Feng Wuhen came to regard as his home. 2 3 6

He repeatedly worries about dangers facing Shen Ziheng, Qin Xiaoran, Zheng Zefang, Tian Yuxin, and Mount Grand Mystery as a whole, often trying to find ways to avert tragedies revealed through his knowledge of the future. 4 18 23
