Background

Chu Moqing found Bing Ling as an egg in a secret realm and raised him after he hatched. Bing Ling initially mistook Chu Moqing for his father, an embarrassing memory he tries to prevent others from discussing. Although Chu Moqing never formally accepted him as a disciple or taught him extensively, Bing Ling considers him both the father who raised him and half a teacher. 7 144

Despite being over a hundred years old, Bing Ling is still considered a child by Demon Race standards. Before Feng Wuhen joined Nine Heavens Peak, he rarely left the peak, had little experience with human treachery, and cultivated lazily because he had been born with Golden Core cultivation and relied on Chu Moqing as protection. 9 18

Feng Wuhen’s rapid improvement changed Bing Ling’s attitude toward cultivation. After being overwhelmed in their sparring sessions, Bing Ling realized that Feng Wuhen could soon surpass him and began cultivating day and night so that he could remain capable of protecting his junior brother. 18 19

Bing Ling can shift between a youthful human form and an Ice Phoenix form. In human form, he appears around Feng Wuhen’s age despite his actual age.
