Roxy blushed and pursed her lips. Her blue eyes were filled with longing as she looked at Cain. She needed Cain to make her a promise, because he was the Sword God of the Sword God's Holy Land, and his promises could be trusted. Otherwise, she would not have dared spend the night here, because she still could not get past that hurdle in her heart.
"I promise I won't do anything excessive to Teacher."
Cain cleared his throat twice, raised three fingers, and swore with a serious expression.
He recalled what his master Gall had once told him.
"A real man charges forward and boldly pursues what he likes! If all else fails, settle it with a sword duel! The winner gets everything."
Of course, he would not have a sword duel with Teacher Roxy at a time like this. That would be far too strange. He would respect Teacher Roxy's wishes...
Having somewhat regained his senses, Cain pursed his lips slightly, feeling as though he were dreaming.
"Teacher Roxy, are you really sure you want to spend the night in my room...?"
Cain felt as though he was taking advantage of Teacher Roxy. Using what he had said during the day to force her into making a decision was truly somewhat underhanded...
Of course, he did not know that Zoldat was responsible for eighty percent of it.
Fortunately, the outcome was good.
"Yes, I'll feel safe here..."
As Roxy spoke, she pursed her lips and hugged the white pillow in her arms a little tighter. She truly felt that way. In this world of the Human Race, few people cared about the feelings—or even the lives—of a Demon Race member like her...
Even on the Demon Continent, those male adventurers only saw her as one of the men, not as a member of the opposite sex.
Cain cared for her so much and was accommodating toward her in daily life. Roxy truly felt happy and at ease. It felt as though she were being carefully cherished and sincerely treated as a partner of the opposite sex. At Cain's side, Roxy felt completely safe.
Of course, when it came to changing clothes and bathing in the future, Roxy would still return to her own room. There was no need to cancel that room either; it was necessary to make Mr. Zoldat spend a little more money.
Thinking that, Roxy breathed a sigh of relief. In any case, Cain did not hate this somewhat overly willful teacher of his. That was truly wonderful.
That night, Roxy sat beside Cain on the bed with her pillow in her arms, and the two read a magic book together.
Roxy noticed Cain's gaze sweep over the page describing Advanced Detoxification Magic. He then glanced at her, looking slightly flustered, and quickly turned past that page.
Noticing Cain's little movements, Roxy smiled helplessly and sighed softly. He had acted the same way when reading about Advanced Healing Magic last time.
Hmm... it seemed he had more or less learned both of these difficult healing spells already. And he was genuinely concerned about my feelings...
Was it because I said I would be jealous...?
What a silly disciple.
Roxy pursed her lips slightly as she looked at Cain.
"Cough, cough. Um, Cain, if you learn Advanced Healing Magic and Advanced Detoxification Magic, your teacher will be very happy."
"Huh?! Teacher, won't you be jealous of me?"
The corner of Roxy's mouth twitched.
He said it so bluntly... Sword God Style swordsmen really were straightforward.
Roxy cleared her throat twice and shook her head slightly.
"I won't. Cain is a genius, after all. You've probably surpassed a mage like me long ago..." Roxy said, looking somewhat downcast.
Cain frowned in dissatisfaction.
"Teacher Roxy is very impressive..."
"Alright, alright. I'm happy to hear you say that, but you don't need to comfort me like that, Cain. I know what my abilities are..."
Cain watched Roxy hug the large pillow and give him a faint smile. Then, with a somewhat disappointed look in her eyes, she gazed out at the starry sky beyond the window. She pursed her lips before finally letting out a sigh.
Teacher Roxy was really somewhat lacking in confidence.
Even though she was truly amazing...
Looking at Roxy's adorable profile, Cain turned his face away and whistled softly as he slowly pushed a cream pastry he had prepared beforehand toward her.
Seeing the little cake before her, Roxy swallowed. Looking at Cain beside her, smiling at her, her blue eyes trembled slightly. She could not help but reveal a grateful smile. Then she pursed her lips, sighed again, picked up the pastry, and began eating it happily.
"Thank you, Cain..."
Watching Roxy's adorable, blissful smile, Cain propped his chin on his hand and admired her.
"You're welcome, Master~"
Outside, Zoldat and the three Mias helping him massage his shoulders and apply medicated patches revealed satisfied smiles as they watched Roxy enter Cain's room and not come out.
"Done!"
"Cain, after some time, I need to return to Magic University to complete my academic examination. Um... I was wondering if you have time..."
Late at night, Roxy blinked as she looked at Cain, who was also still awake on the bed beside hers.
That morning, Sharia Magic University had specifically sent her a letter. It roughly invited her to take part in a graduation assessment organized by the academy. Of course, it clearly stated that if Roxy participated, she would be guaranteed graduation regardless of the result, and they would provide a student aid fund free of charge. The condition was that she bring Sword God Cain, her disciple, to Magic University once.
"I have time. If Teacher wants, I can go back with you."
Cain looked at Roxy and gave her a gentle smile.
Just as expected.
"I-Is that so? Thank you, Cain."
Roxy pursed her lips and unconsciously smiled.
"Then three months from now, we'll go back together."
"Ah, the Magic Armor will be finished by then too."
"Yes, we can pick up the Magic Armor first, then go to Magic University. I can show you the library at Sharia Magic University, Cain, and see whether the Magic Armor has any other areas that can be improved. After all, I'm not entirely satisfied with the First-Generation Magic Armor I designed. There are still many things that can be improved."
"Alright, Teacher Roxy. Then it's a promise."
"It's a promise."
Cain looked at the smiling Roxy. After wishing each other good night, he slowly closed his eyes and fell deeply asleep.
Winter passed, and spring arrived.
Three months later, in the royal palace of the Ranoa Kingdom, King Zerath Ranoa rubbed his brow, drained the expensive red wine on the table in one gulp, lay down on his soft, comfortable bed, and fell into a deep sleep.
In his dream, Zerath Ranoa saw a white figure. The other party wore a radiant smile, its entire body a ghastly white. Its face was impossible to make out, as though it had been censored.
"Hello, my friend. How has your day been?"
The god in the form of a white outlined humanoid spread his hands toward the king with what seemed to be a cheerful expression.
Zerath pursed his lips as he looked at the fellow emitting white light before letting out a soft sigh.
"Not very well, Lord God. I clearly recruited that North King according to your wishes, so why did he not kill Roxy Migurdia, the source of calamity, according to the prophecy you gave us?"
The white figure revealed a radiant smile and patted Zerath's shoulder.
"Ah, that. I seem to recall telling you not to provoke that evil Sword God, but you did not carry out my instructions."
The Human God turned away, the smile on his face growing even wider.
At those words, the king's brows knitted tightly together. He looked at the Human God's back, somewhat anxious.
"Then what should we do? That Second Sword God said that if that Demon Race woman Roxy dies, he will kill me and destroy the entire Ranoa Magic Kingdom."
The Human God curled his lips upward and spread his hands.
"Don't worry, I've already thought it through for you. You only need to write a letter to Sharia Magic University as I say, and you can perfectly resolve the root of the disaster, save yourself, and save your kingdom."
