Background / History

Roxy left Magic University after a dispute with her teacher over their differing views on magic. She returned to adventuring to prove her own talent and demonstrate that her teacher had been wrong. Though outwardly confident that she could one day reach King- or Emperor-class magic, she privately struggled with self-doubt. 5

At the Adventurers' Guild in Ranoa, Roxy met Cain Brand while drunk. She used beginner Detoxification Magic to sober herself, then formed an adventurer party with him for an equal share of their rewards. Cain's humility and willingness to learn magic sharply contrasted with her expectations of Sword God Style swordsmen. 4 5

During the Heavy-Armored Mud Dragon commission, Roxy guided Cain to the threatened village and supported him with ice magic. Her large-scale advanced spell pierced multiple Mud Dragons and established her reputation among the surrounding adventurers. Afterward, she accepted Cain as her disciple and became his magic teacher. 6 7 8

Roxy and Cain later participated in the Red Dragon subjugation. She accurately struck a high-speed Red Dragon with magic, healed Cain after his dragon-slaying attack injured him, and became recognized as the Second Sword God's teacher. 17 25

Following the subjugation, Zoldat publicly attributed Cain's success to Roxy's protection, leading to the foundation of the Roxy Church. Though uneasy about a church bearing her name, Roxy accepted it because it offered her protection and encouraged adventurers. 27

At Magic University, Roxy reconciled with Jinas Halfas after leaving him without goodbye in the past. She later led students through a B-rank labyrinth examination, where assassins targeted her and a Mana Disaster caused the dungeon's monsters to multiply and evolve. Roxy protected the students' escape but was transported to the Crimson-Scaled Nine-Headed Dragon's chamber, where Cain rescued her after she exhausted her mana and her Flamebone Dragon Guard was destroyed. Roxy took leave from her professorship to adventure with Cain, then eventually returned to Magic University to study and become stronger. She left Cain a farewell letter and a lock of her hair, refusing to use her former disciple's feelings for her own benefit, but Cain caught up to her and promised to marry her once he came of age. 75 83 84

During her four years of research at Magic University, Roxy developed shortened incantations, expanded her mana reserves, and sought to become strong enough to stand beside Cain rather than depend on his protection. She returned to the Fittoa Region as Cain's coming-of-age gift, resumed their relationship, and eventually became intimate with him during their trip to Buena Village. 105 153 156 157

After the Mass Teleportation Incident devastated the Fittoa Region and separated Cain from those on the Central Continent, Roxy became distraught but continued searching for him alongside Zoldat, Neris, and other allies. She helped locate survivors, rescued Ghislaine and Sauros from Asura Kingdom assassins, and organized a wider search through letters sent across the world. 188 189 200

As Cain's absence continued, Orsted checked on Roxy at Magic University and grew concerned that the prolonged separation was harming her emotional well-being. When Cain finally returned, Roxy initially struggled to believe he was standing before her. They reunited, reaffirmed their love, and began living together as husband and wife. 219 222 223

Roxy temporarily reduced her teaching duties to remain with Cain, Eris, and the displaced Fittoa survivors. She later resumed going to Magic University and maintained her professional and financial independence. Although she and Cain call each other husband and wife, they have postponed a wedding; Roxy agrees to wait because Cain wants Eris to be able to join them. 226 232 258 260

Roxy is a petite, slender Migurd Race woman with pale skin, blue hair, and azure eyes. Her race's physical development stops at a youthful appearance, causing others to mistake her for a young girl. 5 20

Roxy values independence and acts on her ethical convictions. Though she regrets having to set aside some classes during the search, she remains committed to teaching.
