Background / History

Roxy left Magic University after a dispute with her teacher over their differing views on magic. She returned to adventuring to prove her own talent and demonstrate that her teacher had been wrong. Though outwardly confident that she could one day reach King- or Emperor-class magic, she privately struggled with self-doubt. 5

At the Adventurers' Guild in Ranoa, Roxy met Cain Brand while drunk. She used beginner Detoxification Magic to sober herself, then formed an adventurer party with him for an equal share of their rewards. Cain's humility and willingness to learn magic sharply contrasted with her expectations of Sword God Style swordsmen. 5

During the Heavy-Armored Mud Dragon commission, Roxy guided Cain to the threatened village and supported him with ice magic. Her large-scale advanced spell pierced multiple Mud Dragons and established her reputation among the surrounding adventurers. Afterward, she accepted Cain as her disciple and became his magic teacher. 6 7 8

Roxy and Cain later participated in the Red Dragon subjugation. She accurately struck a high-speed Red Dragon with magic, healed Cain after his dragon-slaying attack injured him, and became recognized as the Second Sword God's teacher. 17 25

Following the subjugation, Zoldat publicly attributed Cain's success to Roxy's protection, leading to the foundation of the Roxy Church. Though uneasy about a church bearing her name, Roxy accepted it because it offered her protection and encouraged adventurers. 27

At Magic University, Roxy reconciled with Jinas Halfas after leaving him without goodbye in the past. She later led students through a B-rank labyrinth examination, where assassins targeted her and a trap transported her to the Nine-Headed Dragon's chamber. Roxy protected the students' escape but was rescued by Cain after being cornered by the guardian. Her actions earned her a direct promotion to professor. 61 67 69 73 75

Roxy took leave from her professorship to adventure with Cain, then eventually returned to Magic University to study and become stronger. After several years apart, she reunited with Cain in the Fittoa Region as his coming-of-age gift and resumed their relationship. 75 83 105 153
