Background

Daisy is the daughter of Figarland Saint and Donquixote Neria, making Donquixote Doflamingo her maternal uncle. As a child, she lived among the Celestial Dragons until Morita Lia exposed Neria's connection to the disgraced Donquixote family. Backed by Imu, Lia brought the matter before the Five Elders; Neria was sentenced to death, and Figarland Saint married Lia on the day of her execution. Daisy consequently came to hate her father, Lia, the Five Elders, and Imu. 5

She fled Mary Geoise after her mother's death but was captured by slave traders. Jaba and Mark rescued her before she could be sold, after which she lived with them in Moss Town. Initially domineering and accustomed to being treated as a master, she gradually moderated her behavior after repeated discipline from Jaba and Mark. Despite her temper and lingering pride, Moss Town's residents became fond of her. 5

At age twelve, Daisy left Moss Town to investigate her mother's family and search for Doflamingo. During her travels, she spent three months in Dressrosa with him; Doflamingo knew her origins, treated her warmly, and gave her the Repair Fruit. 5 6
