Background

Daisy is the daughter of Figarland Saint and Donquixote Neria, making Donquixote Doflamingo her maternal uncle. As a child, she lived among the Celestial Dragons until Morita Lia exposed Neria's connection to the disgraced Donquixote family. Backed by Imu, Lia brought the matter before the Five Elders; Neria was sentenced to death, and Figarland Saint married Lia on the day of her execution. Daisy consequently came to hate her father, Lia, the Five Elders, and Imu. 5

She fled Mary Geoise after her mother's death but was captured by slave traders. Jaba and Mark rescued her before she could be sold, after which she lived with them in Moss Town. Initially domineering and accustomed to being treated as a master, she gradually moderated her behavior after repeated discipline from Jaba and Mark. Despite her temper and lingering pride, Moss Town's residents became fond of her. 5

At age twelve, Daisy left Moss Town to investigate her mother's family and search for Doflamingo. During her travels, she spent three months in Dressrosa with him; Doflamingo knew her origins, treated her warmly, and gave her the Repair Fruit. 5 6

Six months after Jaba's funeral, Daisy chose to sail with Mark rather than remain in Moss Town. She left carrying a flintlock pistol, a floral dress, and a pink teddy-bear bag. 10

Appearance

Daisy is a petite girl with long black hair, vivid violet eyes, and a notably beautiful, expressive face. Her appearance often causes others to overlook her temper or former Celestial Dragon bearing. 5

  • About 1.5 meters tall when she returned to Moss Town. 5
  • Violet eyes described as moist and bright. 5
  • Often bares two small fangs when pretending to be fierce. 5
  • Wore a white lotus skirt and carried a pink koala bag upon returning to Moss Town. 5
  • Later travels with a pink teddy-bear bag. 10

Personality

Daisy is bright, affectionate, and playful with Mark and Jaba, but retains traces of the haughtiness she developed as a Celestial Dragon. She can be sharp-tempered, proud of her abilities, and unwilling to be treated as helpless. 5 6 20

Her mother's execution left her with a deeply personal hatred of the World Government's ruling powers. Although she investigates her past, she values the found family she built with Mark and Jaba more than her broken blood ties. 5

She is perceptive and caring, particularly where Mark is concerned. She notices when his hatred or killing troubles him, worries that he may be developing Bloodlust Syndrome, and immediately uses her power to treat his injuries. 11 34 38

Abilities & Skills

Repair Fruit

Daisy ate the Paramecia-type Repair Fruit given to her by Doflamingo. It restores living beings by touching and repairing the soul, causing physical healing from the inside out. The fruit also makes its user a rare “Long-Lived Species,” though its longevity does not prevent death by violence. 6 7

  • Can repair living things through direct contact. 6
  • Cannot repair dead things. 6
  • Healed the severe Black Gun wound in Mark's upper arm, restoring flesh and skin over roughly ten minutes. 38
  • Grants exceptional longevity through an unusually stable soul-body connection. 6 7
  • The green glow emitted while using her power is visible to others. 6 38

Daisy became familiar with sea charts and Log Poses during more than a year of travel while investigating Doflamingo. 11

  • Guided Mark's sailboat toward Cocoyasi Village when he could not navigate himself. 11
  • Located the relocated 16th Marine Branch from Orange Town. 16
  • Officially became the Moss Pirates' navigator. 24
  • Led the crew safely across Reverse Mountain and into the Grand Line. 39

Marksmanship

Jaba trained Daisy in firearms, giving her sufficient skill to defend herself with a flintlock pistol. 10

  • Carries Buffettla's ornate flintlock pistol. 10
  • Her shooting made a meaningful contribution during the battle against the Arlong Pirates. 24
  • Shot incoming cannonballs out of the air during the Krieg Pirates' bombardment. 32

Equipment

  • Flintlock pistol — Taken from Buffettla; Daisy's primary weapon. 10
  • Pink teddy-bear bag — Personal travel bag. 10
  • Sea charts — Used in her work as the crew's navigator. 11 39

Relationships

  • Mark — Rescuer, found family, and captain of the Moss Pirates. Daisy is openly affectionate toward him, insists on fighting as a proper crewmate, and serves as his navigator and doctor. 5 20 24
  • Jaba — Guardian and mentor who helped rescue and raise her in Moss Town. Their relationship is marked by frequent teasing and bickering. 5 10
  • Donquixote Doflamingo — Maternal uncle. Daisy found him in Dressrosa; he treated her well and gave her the Repair Fruit. 5 6
  • Donquixote Neria — Mother. Her execution under Imu's authority is the central cause of Daisy's hatred toward the Celestial Dragons' leadership. 5
  • Figarland Saint — Father. Daisy despises him for abandoning Neria and marrying Morita Lia on the day Neria died. 5
  • Chiu Chiu / Mouth Cannon — Fellow Moss Pirate who calls her “Boss Daisy.” They support one another during the crew's battles and daily life. 16 18
  • Morita Lia — Her father's second wife and a major target of Daisy's resentment for exposing Neria's background and initiating the events leading to her death. 5

Story Role / Major Arcs

Departure and East Blue voyage

At Arlong Park, Daisy refuses to remain excluded from the battle, reminding Mark that she is part of the pirate crew. Mark recognizes that his protectiveness has unfairly kept her from contributing. 20

Formation of the Moss Pirates

After the Arlong conflict, Daisy challenges Mark for appointing Nami without consulting the crew's existing navigator. Mark apologizes and formally recognizes Daisy as both the Moss Pirates' navigator and ship doctor. 24

Loguetown and the Grand Line

Daisy heals Mark after Tina's Black Gun seriously wounds him during the crew's escape from Loguetown. 38

She later takes command of navigation during the crossing of Reverse Mountain, successfully bringing the Moss Pirates into the Grand Line. 39

Trivia

  • Daisy's cooking is exceptionally poor; her attempted celebration meal after Mark destroyed the 16th Marine Branch was so salty and dry that Mark and Chiu Chiu took over the kitchen. 18
  • She enjoys Mark's cooking, particularly beef meatballs, beef dumplings, and cheese-and-mozzarella hamburgers. 10 12
  • Before receiving a bounty, Daisy was the only Moss Pirate without one because she had not yet acted openly in battle. 31
