What is martial arts?

Martial skill has nothing to do with music, chess, calligraphy, or painting; nothing to do with treasures or secret manuals; and there aren't so many "number one under heaven." Martial skill is a technique—a technique that lets the weak glimpse a chance to raise a blade against the strong.

What is chivalry?

Chivalry is not romanticism, not traditional culture; it has no gentleness, kindness, courtesy, thrift, or humility to speak of. Chivalry is violence—a bayonet forged by those forced onto Mount Liang for tyrants.

Cao Mo made a covenant at Ke and recovered Lu's invaded lands. Zhuan Zhu presented a roasted fish and accomplished Wu's usurpation. A sister wept in the market to make her brother's name known; a loyal retainer hid in a latrine to avenge his lord. Some cut their throats to clear injustice; some acted with weapons hidden in their sleeves. The tyrannical Qin was struck with terror; the cowardly gained courage.

This is a martial arts story.

In the 1930s, several like-minded young people came together, striving to change the world.
