Harry's Fated Enemy
Just as Ron Weasley was enjoying his meal, there was a knock on the door of the private room. Then, a girl with a slightly arrogant expression walked in, her head held high. Behind her was a boy with his head down, looking somewhat timid.
"Hello, have you seen Neville's toad?"
The girl had barely entered when she eagerly asked everyone questions, her tone arrogant and haughty, making Ron Weasley frown. Harry also thought this girl must be difficult to get along with. Only Lester knew that this was the last of the future trio, Hermione Granger.
The person following behind him should be Neville Longbottom, the heir to the Longbottom family.
It's clear that the little girl is a real beauty, looking exactly like Hermione from the movie. She has big eyes, a high nose, an oval face, and two big front teeth that Hermione has brushed until they're snow-white, showing that she takes good care of them, which is very fitting for her status as the daughter of a dentist.
Behind him was Neville Longbottom, whose parents had been driven insane by Voldemort's henchmen. He grew up under the care of his grandmother, but because he had no parents, Neville was often ridiculed by other young wizards when he was a child, which led to his current low self-esteem.
He had a round face, a slightly chubby build, and a dull gaze. Coupled with his frequently open mouth, he looked exactly like a mentally challenged person, appearing like someone who could be bullied at will.
If Lester hadn't known that he would one day pull out the Gryffindor sword to kill Voldemort's precious serpent and eventually become the headmaster of Hufflepuff, he probably would have kicked him a couple of times, not for any other reason than that he thought he was easy to bully.
Suppressing the urge to go forward and tease her, Lester, Harry, and Ron exchanged glances, clearly none of them having seen the toad Hermione was talking about.
"Sorry, we've been in the private room the whole time and haven't seen the toad you're talking about," Lester stood up, shook his head, and said, "However, I think I can help you find that toad."
Lester did this not for any other reason than he simply wanted to befriend Neville, the future Gryffindor Saint.
Hermione looked Lester up and down. To be honest, the young man was quite handsome, with striking features, like a protagonist straight out of a fairy tale.
"Th... thank you!" Neville was a little shy. Ever since he was mocked by other children his age for having crazy parents, Neville hadn't spoken to anyone his age, let alone someone as handsome as him.
Seeing this, Lester didn't say much. After saying goodbye to Harry and Ron Weasley, he set off on his search for the toad.
A few minutes after Lester left, Ron Weasley's habit of gossiping behind people's backs kicked in again. "Harry, look at that girl, so arrogant. I bet if she were a Pure-blood wizard, he'd be sorted into Slytherin, because it's full of bad guys like her."
Harry nodded in agreement. Influenced by Ron Weasley, Slytherin had a very low opinion of Harry, and the young Harry already regarded all Slytherin students as bad people.
Seeing this, Ron Weasley continued to sow discord, "And that Lester, hopefully he'll be sorted into Gryffindor with us, otherwise, given his personality, if he goes to Slytherin, he'll definitely be another Blackie wizard."
Harry was surprised to hear this and said, "How could that be? Lester is my best friend!"
"Best friend?" A barely perceptible hint of jealousy and gloom flashed in Ron Weasley's eyes. In his mind, Harry, who was willing to share snacks with him, was already his best friend. But the fact that his best friend was thinking of someone else made him feel very uncomfortable.
Harry realized his words were inappropriate and quickly added, "Of course, you're my best friend too!"
Ron Weasley nodded outwardly, indicating that it was nothing, but inwardly he harbored a grudge against Lester, believing that Lester had stolen his friend.
"I know we're good friends, but I mean, I don't want Lester to go to Slytherin, because it's full of dark wizards. If Lester goes to Slytherin, he'll go bad too; the environment there will corrupt him."
Harry disagreed with this statement, but everyone he knew, except for Lester, had been telling him bad things about Slytherin, including Hagrid.
Just as Harry was struggling with his decision, the door to the private room was pushed open again. This time, instead of Hermione and Neville, three arrogant-looking boys came in.
The boy in the lead had platinum blonde hair and eyes full of arrogance and ambition. The two boys behind him were clearly his henchmen, with round buzz cuts and big faces, looking rather dull.
That's right, the newcomers were none other than Draco and his two purebred henchmen.
"I think I heard you speaking ill of Slytherin the moment I walked in Weasley family," Malfoy said slowly as he entered the box. "I know you, Ron Weasley. My father told me that you Weasley family are all traitors among the purebloods."
Upon hearing this, Ron Weasley stood up abruptly, his face flushed with anger, and said, "That's because you purebloods are so stubborn and inflexible. Only you think you're superior because of your bloodline. In reality, you're just a bunch of power-hungry fools."
Malfoy ignored Ron Weasley's insults completely. He didn't take Ron Weasley seriously at all. His only purpose in coming here was to make friends with the famous Harry Potter.
"You're Harry Potter? That famous boy!" Malfoy introduced himself first, "My name is Draco Malfoy, from the Malfoy family of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. That's Goyle and Crabbe."
"I've heard your story since I was a child. You became famous at a young age and defeated the You-Know-Who, so, I mean, perhaps we could become friends," Malfoy glanced at Ron Weasley and continued, "I saw you in Madam Malkin's shop, you and that boy. I feel that the three of us could be friends, rather than friends with someone like that."
"Potter, you don't want to be friends with someone different, do you? I can help you with that."
"I think I can tell who the oddballs are myself, thanks," Harry said coldly.
There was no point in arguing; Malfoy, rejected in his first attempt at making friends, blushed furiously and said, somewhat exasperatedly, "You should be more polite, otherwise you'll end up like your parents. They don't know what's good for them. If you hang out with shady people like the Weasley family, you'll be negatively affected."
