Making a Name for Himself in Transfiguration Class
"You can't possibly achieve advanced Transfiguration right now," Professor McGonagall said, waving her wand. The little pig transformed back into a desk.
"What you need to do in your first lesson is to turn that matchstick on the table into a needle!"
Upon hearing this, everyone noticed that each student had a match on their desk. The small match was engraved with patterns, and there was a smell of sulfur dioxide coming from the match cap.
Many students wore expectant expressions; clearly, they all believed they were talented.
"Hu Wei La Hu!" Jiedi was the first to wave his wand and shout the spell at the match.
Unfortunately, the success of this spell depends not on the tone of the voice, but on the mastery of magic.
Not only Jiedi, but even Kitty and Miti failed after shouting several times.
Even Hermione Granger, sitting not far from them, was frowning as she stared at the matchstick, trying to recall the knowledge she had memorized from her textbooks, hoping to use it to complete her transformation.
"Brother Lai, this is so difficult!" Jiedi's voice was hoarse from shouting, but he still couldn't succeed.
Lester, with an inscrutable expression, tilted his head back and said calmly, "Difficult? We wizards practice magic against the heavens. How can anything defying the heavens be simple?"
Jiedi: "..."
He suspected Lester was showing off, but unfortunately he had no proof.
Lester remained unfazed, coughed lightly, raised the Dark Lord's Wand, and aimed it at the matches on the table.
"Hu Wei La Hu"
With his 100 points of magic power and the blessing of the Doran's Ring activated, the surging magic power poured from the tip of the Dark Lord's Wand into the match.
As magic continued to flow in, the match began to change gradually. The wood at the end began to turn silvery-white, and the cap on the head became extremely sharp.
"Brother Lai is awesome!"
As Lester's number one henchman (in his own eyes), Jiedi immediately fulfilled his role as a henchman, which was to flatter his boss.
Kitty and Miti were not to be outdone, offering their sincerest praise as well.
"The sun rises in the west, and only Lai Ge remains undefeated; one day, Lai Ge will surely reign supreme in the Wizarding World."
"My elder Lester has the makings of an emperor!"
The commotion in the front row immediately attracted the attention of the others in the classroom. The arrogant way the Lester Bully Squad had entered and their brazen behavior of grabbing seats had already drawn the attention of many students.
Seeing them shouting and yelling in the front row, many students turned to look at them with curiosity, wanting to see what kind of trouble they were up to now.
On Lester's table, the match had disappeared, replaced by a Winky silver needle.
Under the classroom lights, a silvery-white light emanated from above, highlighting the sharpness of the fine needle tip.
Immediately, all the students in the classroom couldn't help but start whispering among themselves.
After their previous attempt, they realized just how difficult this Transfiguration was, which explained their astonishment.
"How did this little Slytherin wizard manage to do that?!" This was what the Gryffindor wizard exclaimed.
"We're doomed! This evil sorcerer is not only arrogant, but also has such strong magical talent. How are we going to stay in Slytherin from now on?" This was what the young Slytherin wizard said.
"Damn it, Lester, if you give me a brand new wand, I, Ron Weasley, am no worse than you!" That's what Ron Weasley said.
"Leicester, your magical talent is truly remarkable, but I, Malfoy, am no less so!" This was said by the arrogant Malfoy in the back row.
"Draco is so handsome, even when he's frowning he's handsome!" That's for sure, that's what Pansy said.
Even Hermione, the best student in Gryffindor, cast a curious glance at Lester.
"Lester must come from a wizarding family, which is why he was able to transform so quickly."
She hadn't spoken to Lester since the last time Lester helped Neville find the toad.
It wasn't that she disliked Lester, but rather that Lester was sorted into Slytherin House, a place that wasn't exactly friendly to Muggle-born like her.
"Mr. Bide, not bad Transfiguration!"
Professor McGonagall picked up the steel needle in front of Lester and examined it closely.
"Excellent! Not only can you turn matches into needles, but the tips are also incredibly sharp. You're the first little wizard to achieve this in the very first lesson."
"In fact, you did it even better than many second-year wizards!"
Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, a hint of praise flashing in her eyes, and said gently, "Lester Bide, your excellent performance will add 10 points to Slytherin!"
Lester remained unfazed, maintaining his dashing demeanor, and calmly replied, "It's all thanks to Professor McGonagall's excellent teaching."
Professor McGonagall remained noncommittal. If Lester had truly performed the spell under her tutelage, the professor wouldn't have simply allowed Lester to succeed.
Professor McGonagall was in a good mood after praising Lester.
After all, having a genius student under one's tutelage is a fortunate thing no matter how you look at it.
Unfortunately, Professor McGonagall's good mood didn't last long, because she saw Neville from her own house.
"Neville, what you're holding is a magic wand, not a magic stick from a fairy tale. No matter how hard you wave it, it won't work if you don't pronounce the spell correctly!"
As soon as he finished speaking, many students in the classroom burst into laughter and began to mock Neville.
Neville blushed with embarrassment, passing his wand around incessantly, looking quite flustered.
Professor McGonagall's face darkened as she listened to the students' shrill laughter in the classroom.
She criticized Neville only so that he could better perform the magic, not so that he would be ridiculed by his classmates.
As a professor with over twenty years of professional experience, Professor McGonagall's professional ethics are beyond question.
