Lester Must Be Plotting Something
On Thursday morning, a strange sight appeared in the cafeteria.
A group of first-year Slytherin wizards, with dark circles under their eyes, listlessly chewed their food.
Even the once most lively Malfoy only glanced at Harry, his old nemesis, before continuing to eat his food.
In the distance, at the Gryffindor dining table, Harry and Ron Weasley were whispering to each other.
"What mischief did those Slytherin get up to last night? They seem so listless today."
"Who knew? I wasn't familiar with them at all. In all of Gryffindor, she was the only one who had some connections with Slytherin."
As he spoke, Ron Weasley gestured with his chin toward Hermione, clearly annoyed.
Harry hesitated, "Should we go ask Hermione? The Slytherin must have done something last night; they're definitely plotting something!"
Since being targeted by Snape in Potions and then further injured by Lester's Boil Potion, Harry has begun to fully agree with Ron Weasley's views.
Slytherin are all bad seeds!
"Didn't you see Hermione's expression when she was talking to Malfoy?" Ron Weasley mocked, mimicking Hermione's silly grin. "She was completely bewitched by that pretty boy Malfoy, how could she possibly tell us?"
Harry nodded in agreement. Indeed, Hermione was not a sociable person in Gryffindor, and even now, she still went to class alone.
"So what should we do? Just wait for Lester and the others to make their move?"
Harry was deeply worried; in his heart, Lester had gone from friend to enemy.
Just as he would immediately suspect Snape in the future, now whatever Lester does, Harry will suspect Lester of having a conspiracy.
Ron Weasley pondered for a moment, then said smugly, "People who have done bad things must feel guilty. If we warn them now, maybe Lester will behave himself."
Warning Lester?
Harry had heard rumors about Lester; he was a ruthless man who would slap a dog if it accidentally messed with him.
Sending the two of them to warn Lester now is like an old man hanging himself.
Seeing Harry hesitate, Ron Weasley was very dissatisfied.
At that moment, in Ron Weasley's eyes, Harry's hesitation was clearly a sign of fear.
The thought that others saw him as Harry's lackey only fueled Ron Weasley's resentment.
If you don't even have the courage to face the enemy, why should you be seen as Harry's subordinate in other people's eyes?
Moreover, in the past, Harry was usually the decision-maker in his and Harry's small group, and it was often Harry who decided what to do.
When Harry offered his suggestion, he refused!
Ron Weasley grew angrier the more he thought about it, and his tone became much harsher. "What, you don't want to go?"
"Don't want to go?" Harry looked at Ron Weasley with surprise, then explained, "The two of us are going to find Lester, and they..."
Ron Weasley's face darkened, and he interrupted, "You're always the one making the decisions. Can't you listen to me just this once?"
Harry: "???"
To be fair, although Harry became a bit arrogant because of his status as the Chosen One, his character is impeccable, and he is exceptionally good to his friends.
Although people always say that Ron Weasley is his sidekick, he never thinks so.
But clearly, Harry was still naive.
The saying "three men can make a tiger" applies here. Even if Harry and Ron Weasley were truly equals, the words of others inevitably affected Ron Weasley's mindset.
Seeing the stubbornness in Ron Weasley's eyes, Harry gritted his teeth. "Of course, we can warn them when they leave."
Ron Weasley breathed a sigh of relief after receiving Harry's affirmative reply.
I'm not Harry's sidekick, I'm Harry's friend!
Although Ron Weasley now realizes the plan is somewhat absurd, his ridiculous sense of pride prevents him from abandoning it.
Besides, he was merely giving Lester a warning; would Lester dare to hit him in front of everyone?
Moreover, if he were to warn Lester this time, he could also make a name for himself.
Perhaps after this, people won't treat him as Harry's sidekick anymore, a dispensable background character.
Ron Weasley grew increasingly excited and suggested, "We can call all the first-year Gryffindor students. Lester always has six or seven lackeys with him; if only two of us go, they might gang up on us."
Harry wholeheartedly agreed with Ron Weasley's suggestion.
If he could actually gather all 20-odd members of Gryffindor, that might be enough to warn Lester.
"We can call Seamus and the others," Harry suggested, "Lavender's group of girls too."
Having made up their minds, Ron Weasley and Harry immediately got to work.
Because of his reputation as the Chosen One, and because of Lester's disgraceful behavior in Potions yesterday, Gryffindor, upon hearing that Lester had a conspiracy, expressed their willingness to go and warn Lester.
Apart from Hermione saying she was going to the library Neville saying he didn't want to participate, all the other first-year Gryffindor students participated in Harry's actions.
Moreover, Ron Weasley, as the organizer and proposer, has come into the public eye.
Ron Weasley, who had always been relegated to the background, was receiving so much attention for the first time, and his confidence soared.
After publicly expressing his dissatisfaction with Hermione and Neville, Ron Weasley puffed out his chest and his eyes became increasingly confident.
If Harry hadn't been holding him back, he probably would have already taken his men to warn Lester.
