Midnight Duel
Seeing that the perpetrators, Malfoy and Lester, were about to leave, Ron Weasley finally couldn't hold back any longer.
Ron Weasley struggled to his feet, his eyes filled with venom, and gritted his teeth, saying:
"Malfoy, I challenge you to a duel! Do you dare accept?!"
Malfoy looked at Ron Weasley with disdain upon hearing this and said indifferently, "A duel? Do you really want to have a wizard duel with me?"
Wizard duels are no joke; they can be deadly.
Both duelists are nobles, and each contestant can choose an assistant before engaging in a life-or-death duel with the other!
After the duel ends, an assistant will take over and continue the duel.
Of course, duels between young wizards wouldn't be this bloody; at most, they'd end up with bloodied heads.
"Three days later, at midnight, in the Clock Tower, a wizard duel, using only wands," Ron Weasley said coldly. "Whoever loses will never be allowed to appear before the other again."
Malfoy chuckled dismissively, looked at Lester, and pleaded, "Lester, would you be my duel partner?"
Lester glanced at Harry, who looked at him with a vengeance that seemed to want to devour him, then at Malfoy, who was full of anticipation, and nodded.
"No way!" To everyone's surprise, Ron Weasley objected, shouting, "Lester can't be your assistant!"
The entire Hogwarts student body has witnessed just how strong Lester is, so Ron Weasley certainly cannot allow Lester to become his assistant.
Malfoy immediately retorted sarcastically, "What? You proposed the duel yourself, and now you want to restrict my assistant? Fine, you might as well just declare yourself the winner."
Ron Weasley's face turned pale and then purple, and he sneered, "I don't care, Lester can't be your assistant."
Seeing that Ron Weasley disagreed with him becoming Malfoy's assistant, Lester stepped forward and said gently, "I can give up my assistantship, but the stakes need to be changed!"
"If you lose, you give us 100 Galleon; if we lose, you get 1000 Galleon. Do you dare?"
Ron Weasley thought for a few seconds, his reason consumed by rage, and almost without hesitation said, "What's there to be afraid of!"
1000 Galleon, that's three years' salary for my whole family!
Although Malfoy knocked me down just now, it was only because he ambushed me.
Moreover, wizard duels rely on wands, not fists, so Malfoy might not be his match.
Besides, Ron Weasley had no intention of participating in this duel at all; it was just his scheme.
"Very well, then three days from now, at the Clock Tower at midnight, we'll meet there!" Lester said coldly. "I hope you won't be late."
"Oh right, I almost forgot, we're going to be locked up together at Filch's place until 11 o'clock. We can go together then."
Ron Weasley shrugged nonchalantly, "Of course, whoever doesn't go is a coward!"
After saying that, Lester and Ron Weasley left, leaving Harry and Ron Weasley standing there resentfully.
"Ron Weasley, you're no match for Malfoy!" Harry exclaimed worriedly as he touched the petrified figure. "Malfoy must have studied Dark Magic."
He could no longer consider Ron Weasley's dignity and spoke bluntly.
Ron Weasley chuckled coldly, saying mockingly, "Who said I was going to duel Malfoy and the others alone?"
"I'm going to find my brother right now. We'll ambush him in the Gryffindor Clock Tower and teach Lester a lesson!"
"But isn't that breaking the rules of wizard duels?" Harry asked incredulously, not understanding why Ron Weasley would do such a thing.
Although I had never heard of wizard duels before, seeing the serious expressions on Lester and Malfoy's faces just now, it was undoubtedly a sacred sport.
Hearing Harry's accusation, Ron Weasley's face darkened, and he coldly replied, "If you don't want to be my assistant, you can leave now."
"But from now on, we're no longer friends!"
Harry looked troubled, unsure of what to do.
Seeing this, Ron Weasley softened his tone slightly and said slowly, "Harry, this time Lester deliberately caused us trouble. If we tolerate it, they will definitely do even worse next time!"
"Therefore, we did nothing wrong; the ones who are wrong are Lester and Malfoy!"
Harry nodded, seemingly understanding, but not quite. Ron Weasley was now his most trusted friend, so he always sided with Ron Weasley.
On the other side, in Slytherin Common Room.
Malfoy excitedly recounted his brutal beating of Ron Weasley, while a group of young wizards gathered around him, listening intently to Malfoy's boast.
There was a gasp of surprise when they heard about the wizarding duel that Malfoy and Ron Weasley had agreed to.
"Malfoy, I've never seen a wizard duel before. May I watch?"
"Yes, Malfoy, I want to see it too. Can I go with you?"
At this moment, Lester stepped forward with a cheerful smile:
"Of course, this is not just a wizarding duel between Malfoy and Ron Weasley, but also our Slytherin Magic Study Group's First World War against an outsider!"
"Except for Malfoy and his assistants, we will all be there to witness firsthand how Malfoy defeats that Gryffindor idiot."
Ron Weasley challenged Malfoy to a wizarding duel, and Lester was certain that Ron Weasley had a scheme up his sleeve.
Or perhaps he secretly informed Filch that Malfoy had gone out at night.
Alternatively, they could have people lie in ambush, then swarm out and overwhelm Malfoy with numbers, giving him a sound beating.
At this point, if he were to bring along all the first-year Slytherin wizards, Ron Weasley would be doomed no matter what.
If Ron Weasley hadn't gone, but instead informed Filch...
In order to obtain the Squib Wand, Filch dared not make things difficult for them and could only let them leave.
When that happens, news of Ron Weasley's cowardly desertion will spread throughout the entire Hogwarts.
The entire Weasley family will be disgraced because of this.
As for the second possibility, that would be even better; Lester couldn't be happier.
Unless Ron Weasley can get Headmaster Dumbledore to help, even if everyone in Gryffindor were called upon, they wouldn't be enough to defeat Lester alone.
In that case, Ron Weasley will not only be labeled a villain, but he will also implicate his classmates who were willing to help him.
That would make his college life very difficult.
"Malfoy, in preparation for the duels over the next three days, I'm going to give you special training. Are you okay with that?"
Lester said with a serious expression, "I will do my best to improve your combat strength over the next three days to prepare for the duel three days from now."
Malfoy was overjoyed and quickly agreed, "Of course, I'm willing to participate!"
Lester's strength is evident to all. Slytherin admires the strong, and Lester is the strongest.
The strongest person in the world is willing to train him personally, which Malfoy is naturally eager to do.
When the other young wizards heard that Lester was willing to personally train Malfoy, they all cast envious glances at Malfoy.
