Gryffindor Ambush
Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and the time for Malfoy and Ron Weasley's duel finally arrived.
In Filch's office, Ron Weasley and Malfoy glared at each other; if Filch were still there, they probably would have started fighting.
"Alright, your confinement is over for today." Filch carefully placed the broken wand back into the box.
After turning off the magic lights in the office, he said calmly, "You three, hurry back to your dorms. Don't wander around Hogwarts Castle at night, or you'll be punished if I catch you."
Although he was speaking to Lester and the other two, Filch's eyes remained fixed on Ron Weasley.
After Filch left, Lester, Malfoy, Ron Weasley followed suit.
However, instead of returning to their dormitory, they went to the Clock Tower together.
"My assistant is Harry, he's already waiting for me at the Clock Tower," Ron Weasley said. "And your assistant?"
Malfoy said calmly, "What's the rush? You'll see in a moment."
A few minutes later, a huge group of Slytherin wizards appeared before Ron Weasley.
"Lester, what kind of trick are you planning to pull!" Ron Weasley's face darkened.
Looking at the large group of young wizards before him, Ron Weasley felt a growing anxiety.
"Could someone in Gryffindor have betrayed me?"
In order to get revenge, he specifically sought out his older brothers.
Percy Weasley, George Weasley, Fred Weasley —these three are the most prominent figures in Gryffindor House!
Seeing their younger brother beaten so badly, and with Ron Weasley adding fuel to the fire, the three older brothers immediately flew into a rage.
Leveraging their reputation, they easily rallied a group of middle and upper-year wizards at Gryffindor House to their aid.
They would wait for Lester and Malfoy to enter the ambush, then swarm out and beat them to a pulp.
"Ron Weasley, these people all want to watch your duel with Malfoy. You don't mind, do you?"
Lester looked at Ron Weasley, who was trembling with fear, and sneered inwardly.
"Are they all first-year Slytherin?" Ron Weasley looked and, sure enough, they were all first-year wizards, and immediately felt relieved.
A first-year wizard has virtually no fighting ability.
With so many people, they'll just be punching bags for us in the end.
Ron Weasley smiled maliciously and said coldly, "I couldn't be more eager. I can't wait to teach Malfoy a lesson first."
The Clock Tower at midnight was utterly deserted, with only a huge bronze bell hanging high beneath the roof beams.
A large group of young wizards arrived at the Clock Tower. It was pitch black all around, so dark that you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.
In the central area, a magical lamp shone, beneath which stood Harry and Jiedi.
"Ron Weasley, why are there so many Slytherin here?" Harry was afraid that his plan would be exposed, Lester and his men had come to the door.
Ron Weasley said confidently, "They're just first-year Slytherin students; they won't affect our duel."
"I hope so," Harry thought, still a little worried. But then, seeing the faint figures around him, he felt relieved.
And so, with more Slytherin twenty first-year Slytherin wizards watching, Malfoy and Ron Weasley began their duel.
"Before the duel, both sides need to perform a wizard's salute to each other, indicating that they are both participating in the duel voluntarily!"
Goyle, dressed in a proper suit, stood between Malfoy and Ron Weasley, holding a copy of the dueling rules he had just made.
"Before the duel, I must ask Mr. Draco Malfoy and Mr. Weasley. Ron Weasley whether you are participating in this duel voluntarily!"
Malfoy and Ron Weasley answered in unison, "Yes!"
Seeing this, Goyle turned a page in his notebook and said, "Then, this duel will be conducted in the presence of all the first-year Slytherin wizards!"
Ron Weasley, as the protagonist, was a little nervous. To be honest, he was now regretting asking Percy Weasley and the others to set up the ambush.
Wizard duels are undoubtedly a sacred event in Pure-blood families.
He became nervous, especially when he saw the solemn attire and dignified gazes of the Slytherin watching them!
"Now, the duelists shall begin their wizarding rituals!" Goyle slowly withdrew, leaving the stage to Malfoy and Ron Weasley.
Malfoy solemnly held his wand horizontally in front of his chest and took a serious step forward.
Ron Weasley regretted his actions and wanted to end the duel, but Percy Weasley and the others were hidden in the shadows and couldn't see his gestures at all.
Left with no other choice, Ron Weasley had to force himself on and take a step forward.
Following the rules of the duel, the two examined their wands, bowed to each other, and signaled that the duel had begun.
Just as Malfoy was bowing, a very abrupt voice rang in Malfoy ears.
"Rictusempra"
Instead of bowing, Ron Weasley drew his wand and unleashed a curse at Malfoy.
Malfoy, who was bowing, couldn't believe Ron Weasley dared to suddenly attack and was hit directly. He burst into laughter on the spot.
Everyone was in an uproar. Ron Weasley had actually broken the rules of wizard duels by attacking his opponent while he was bowing.
"Weasley, what kind of trick are you playing? How dare you do this?"
"To launch a sneak attack while your opponent is bowing during a wizard duel—you are a disgrace to purebloods!"
Everyone witnessed Malfoy's efforts over the past three days in order to win this duel.
Every day I was so exhausted that I had to be carried back to my dorm by Lester Levitation Charm. Even my meals were brought back to my dorm by my classmates.
Everyone was dressed in formal attire as required, Goyle even copied down the rules of wizard duels by hand.
But Ron Weasley's actions were simply treating them like fools!
The other Slytherin wizards who were watching were furious, and Malfoy was so angry he felt like he was going to vomit blood.
To prepare for this duel, he would get up at six o'clock every day and run around Hogwarts Castle, and then be given special training by Lester after class.
Even while in solitary confinement, he didn't give up practicing spells, all in order to win this duel.
As a result, all his efforts were in vain, as Ron Weasley launched a sneak attack, which made Malfoy feel so wronged that he wanted to cry.
Just as all the Slaters were filled with righteous indignation, several sharp, incantation-like sounds suddenly came from the outside.
"Stunning Spell!"
Several white spells shot out from the shadows, swiftly striking the young Slytherin wizards.
Then, dozens of upperclassmen dressed in Gryffindor robes rushed out, unleashing a barrage of curses at the young Slytherin wizards as if they were free.
Faced with the sudden attack, the Slytherin wizards were knocked unconscious before they could react.
No one knew what had happened, and everyone was in complete chaos.
In the distance, George Weasley and Fred Weasley, who were leading the charge, shouted, "Go! Use Stupor Spell to knock out these little snakes, then strip them naked and lay them out at the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room!"
A cheer immediately erupted behind them, followed by a barrage of curses.
The Weasley twins already had a bad relationship with the Slytherin, and to make matters worse, their younger brother was being bullied.
If it were just a verbal conflict, they probably wouldn't interfere with the young wizard's affairs, but Ron Weasley is about to be beaten to a pulp.
Without Madam Pomfrey's Potions from the school Hospital Wing, Ron Weasley would probably have been disfigured.
The principle of siding with family regardless of right or wrong applies in any country, so the twin brothers took the lead.
