Let the Scolding Begin (Bonus Chapter for Everyone Who Sent Gifts These Past Few Days, Thank You)
"You two, stop right there!" Madame Pomfrey yelled at Blaise and Theodore.
"I'll show you two first, then Goyle and Crabbe. The bumps on your heads are also dangerous. The other two aren't seriously injured. I'll show all four of you first."
Before long, Madame Pomfrey made her decision, a move that shocked Harry. Just as Harry was about to speak, Hermione swiftly threw a book at him, and Harry burst into tears again.
"Alright, now there's one more. Let's show it to the five of you first, then we'll talk about the other two..." Madame Pomfrey sighed.
Early the next morning, in Headmaster Dumbledore's office, Minister Fudge, wrapped up like a dumpling, lay in his wheelchair and chattered Grawp at Su Yu and the others for a long time, but no one outside could understand a word he said.
Professor Graves slapped the Fuli minister across the face. "What are you babbling about? Did you forget your vocal cords at home? What a waste of time."
Harry finally understood where Su Yu had learned this habit from. He had clearly seen Su Yu preparing to go up as well, but Professor Graves beat him to it. Like teacher, like student! Su Yu was sighing and complaining as if someone had stolen his words.
Headmaster Dumbledore watched this scene quietly without interrupting, while Professor McGonagall continued to reprimand Malfoy, Goyle, Crabbe, Theodore, and Blaise in the corridor outside the Headmaster's Office.
Professor Snape, who had been sitting by the fireplace in the Headmaster's Office for ten cups of tea, suddenly put down his cup and stood up.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, I firmly believe that Potter and Granger are under the Confundus Charm!"
"That's not how it is! Sirius Black is innocent! Peter Pettigrew his death! We saw him last night! You can't let the Dementor treat Sirius like that, he is..."
Harry stood by anxiously trying to explain.
"See? Headmaster, Black has done a great job with them!"
Professor Snape scoffed from the side.
"We weren't hit by the Confundus Charm! I saw him too, it's Weasley's rat, he's an Animagus, I'm talking about Pettigrew," Hermione said, helping Harry out.
"I just went to see Sirius Black as well," Headmaster Dumbledore said slowly.
"I suppose he's already told you that nonsense he planted in Potter's head," Professor Snape scoffed, "about mice, about Little Pettigrew being alive—"
"That's exactly what Black said." Headmaster Dumbledore examined Snape through his half-moon-shaped spectacles.
"Does my testimony not count?" Professor Snape roared. "Peter Pettigrew is not in the Shrieking Shack, and I have not seen him on the ground."
"That's because you were knocked unconscious, Professor!" Hermione said urgently. "You were too late; you didn't hear—"
"Miss Granger, shut up!" Professor Snape stared at Dumbledore's face and asked in a low voice.
"Of course you wouldn't believe the story Black made up, would you?"
"Sirius Black showed homicidal tendencies when he was sixteen," he said softly. "You haven't forgotten, have you, Headmaster? You haven't forgotten that he tried to kill me, have you?"
"My memory is as good as ever, Severus," Dumbledore said calmly.
"Harry, Hermione, there is absolutely no evidence to corroborate Black's story except yours—and the words of two thirteen-year-old wizards won't convince anyone. Witnesses all over the street insist they saw Sirius kill Pettigrew. I myself testified to the Ministry of Magic that Sirius was the Potters ' Secret Keeper ..."
"But--"
"Listen to me, Harry, do you understand? You must see that Professor Snape's testimony is far more compelling than yours."
Harry and Hermione lowered their heads in disappointment.
"I have witnesses." Su Yu stepped forward, hugged Hermione, snapped his fingers, Isolde emerged from the shadows.
"She saw it last night too, especially Peter Pettigrew."
"Do you know what you're doing, Mr. Sue Fuli!" Professor Snape glared at Su Yu, even though Su Yu was his student.
"Of course I know, Professor Snape. I probably know more about what happened back then than any of you do," Su Yu nonchalantly, raising his hand.
"Is that so? Then you should know! It's him! It's all because of him! Sirius Black! It's all because of him! Lily is... it's all because of him! What are you doing now! Trying to exonerate this murderer!" Professor Snape himself didn't realize that he roared these words.
This startled Harry; why was Professor Snape reacting even more strongly than him? Had Snape's family also perished in that war?
"Severus, calm down, they're still students!" Dumbledore's tone became slightly more forceful.
"I knew it, that's why I made everything clear today!" Su Yu also got angry. They all acted like idiots while doing it, but regretted it afterward. Su Yu instantly opened his Tenseigan, a portal appeared, and he pulled Sirius and Lupin out of it, throwing them onto the floor.
"Alright, you all have something to say, right? Let's begin now. I'll be the one to speak. The judging session is about to begin. Let me evaluate your stupidity."
"First, let's award the dumbest prize to Sirius Black!"
Black looked at Su Yu with a puzzled expression. When did he become the most foolish one? He's super smart, okay?
"You think you're so smart?" Su Yu glared at Black. "Have you ever played Werewolf? If you're a sure-fire good guy, what should you do? Of course, you should protect your sure-fire good guy status and then frantically attack everyone else. Even if you're eliminated, you're still a sure-fire good guy, that's enough! But what did you do? You gave your sure-fire good guy card to someone else! Then you lost your identity and went to find the Werewolf! Tell me, aren't you stupid? Everyone suspected you, including Lupin! But didn't you know what your role was? If you had just protected your own card, nothing would have happened! Think about it! Am I wrong? And you gave it to someone else! And to the Werewolf!"
Sirius bowed his head in anguish. This was why, after exchanging blows with Peter Pettigrew, he preferred to go to Azkaban. He had lost the will to live; he knew he had done wrong, and he wanted to atone...
Lupin gently hugged Sirius, and Harry, looking at him with a complicated expression, slowly reached out and hugged him back.
"And you, Snape! This is the first time I haven't called you Professor! You practically begged Dumbledore on your knees! Think about it, how many times have you knelt in your life? And you knelt before Dumbledore twice!"
"You begged him to save Lily! And what did he do? He gained your loyalty! He gave Lily and the others a simple piece of advice! He told them to hide in Godric's Hollow? It's ridiculous! Absurd! Dumbledore the White Demon King! At least on the surface he's the President of the International Department of Magic! You wanted to save Lily, but what did you get in the end? Lily is gone. Why do you care so much about right and wrong? Why don't you just confront him? Stand on your high ground and condemn him! He's in a position of power but doesn't fulfill his duties. What did you get in return for your loyalty? Did Lily even survive?"
Professor Snape stood there dumbfounded, Harry looked at Professor Snape in surprise, and Professor Graves smiled and winked at Headmaster Dumbledore.
"I didn't say you, did I? Headmaster Dumbledore? What have you done now? Everyone knows Voldemort is going to kill the Potters, couldn't you have laid an ambush? Couldn't you have used them as bait? You can't catch a wolf without risking your cub. You, the White Lord, the Supreme Mugwump, what did you do while Voldemort was causing trouble? Just stood by and watched? Do you think you did a decent job?"
"Do you even know how many traitors your Order of the Phoenix has? In short, you lack both leadership skills and the spirit of a leader! Think about how many years you've been in power? Do you have any trusted confidants in the Ministry of Magic? Do you have any capable people at your disposal? You always try to rely on your own strength, but did you even fight Voldemort yourself? You're really not as good as Grindelwald and Voldemort!"
Dumbledore couldn't stand being yelled at like that, especially with Grindelwald around... Didn't he have any pride? Dumbledore was so angry he almost spat out blood.
