Sick of It
As soon as Su Yu got off the train, he saw Harry making a scene. The reason was that Professor Grubbly-Plank was the one welcoming the new students this year, and Harry was loudly questioning Hagrid about where he was. However, Ron wasn't with him; after all, he was Prefect now and had his own things to do.
However, Luna stood next to Harry. She didn't understand why Harry had suddenly gone mad, and instead wondered if he had been bitten by Acromantula or some other Fantastic Beasts when Harry got out of the car...
Su Yu winked at Luna, then got into the carriage. A little while later, Hermione and the other girls came over. Su Yu could tell they were done with their work, so he quickly opened the carriage door and thanked them for getting in.
"This is absolutely terrible! That idiot Malfoy, I swear I'm going to report him to the professor! He's only had that badge for less than a day and he's already acting all high and mighty, like he owns himself! He even beat up a bunch of freshmen!..."
Hermione was complaining to the girls around her, which puzzled Su Yu. Surely Malfoy wouldn't be arguing with Hermione now?
"I understand..." After Hermione and Daphne continued explaining, Su Yu finally understood. The two girls thought it was normal for the new students to be naughty. They were just kids, and who hadn't been like that themselves? Malfoy was even more annoying when he was young. But the current young master Malfoy thought they just needed to be taught a lesson and that a beating would do the trick. Yes, that's what he thought.
Moreover, he was the Prefect of the fifth year in Slytherin. Su Yu didn't want to get involved, and he didn't care about being Prefect Prefect. Slytherin was all about Prefect; not even the headmaster could change that. The Prefect's position should have gone to Theodore, but his family had too many problems, so Prefect position was given to him. This thrilled young Malfoy, and on the first day of school, he swaggered off with two bodyguards to deal with those kids.
"So, he ganged up on more than 20 children all by himself...?"
Su Yu was somewhat taken aback. Whose subordinate was this? How could he be so brave?
Oh, it's mine... How damn embarrassing...
Hitting a child on the first day of school? If word gets out, Su Yu will lose all face...
"Yeah... Goyle and Crabbe both think hitting children is shameful, but he's actually quite proud of it... bragging to Pansy about how amazing he is..."
Daphne sighed, rubbing her forehead. She had only been gone for a short while, and now Slytherin's infamy had only grown even more widespread.
At this moment, Ka-jie returned. After hearing about Malfoy's heroic deeds, she had already finished dealing with things and was about to go find Su Yu, but she had to return to the freshmen. As punishment, she made young master Malfoy swim back to the Hogwarts Academy with the freshmen, and he was not allowed to board the ship. Goyle and Crabbe supervised him and swam back with them.
The three unlucky souls, having swum through the night, finally reached the dock below Hogwarts Academy and Wizardry, shivering from the cold. Crabbe Crabbe, now a little fireball, was warmed by the other two around him for a while before they finally made their way into the Great Hall...
This year's Defense Against the Dark Arts has a different teacher. It's no longer Professor Moody, but Umbridge, that ruthless old woman. And Professor Graves, who is the senior Defense Against the Dark Arts, will also be going to East University with Su Yu and the others in a few days. So this year, all students' Defense Against the Dark Arts will be taught by Umbridge temporarily. However, when she saw Su Yu, she was a little scared and her eyes darted away.
The new students swarmed into the hall, and Professor McGonagall followed, carrying the Sorting Hat. She placed it on a chair, and the Sorting Hat began to sing this year's Sorting Song.
It's quite interesting. This year, it tells the story of the four Founders of the Hogwarts Academy, and it's about telling everyone to unite. It's already sounding the alarm. If things continue like this, Hogwarts Academy Witchcraft and Wizardry might cease to exist.
"Euan Abercrombie!"
A panicked little boy hurriedly went up to the podium, put the Sorting Hat on his head, and his two big ears just happened to get stuck in the Sorting Hat.
"Gryffindor!"
And so, the Sorting Ceremony began. As one child after another walked up to the stage and was assigned to their respective house, everyone excitedly clapped, welcoming their newest student. Only on the Slytherin side, the new students were nearly in tears upon seeing Malfoy, exhausted and slumped over his desk, not wanting to move. Especially those who had been beaten...
Next came the meal. Su Yu really couldn't stand steak and kidney-filled pies; weren't they disgusting? But the syrup-filled fruit pie after the meal was quite good. When Su Yu first heard the name, he thought it was a pie with fruit and syrup inside—who would eat something like that? But after seeing the finished product, he thought it was pretty good. To be precise, it wasn't a pie; it was more like an egg tart, except the filling was cooked. It tasted alright and was edible.
After everyone had finished eating, Headmaster Dumbledore began his annual spiel: things to note, Hogsmeade Village, Quidditch Match, and then the new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor for the year, Umbridge.
Dumbledore didn't intend to introduce her much, but this woman stepped forward and interrupted Dumbledore, launching into a long, very official speech that no one could understand. Only Hermione and Ka-jie were confused. While everyone else was getting sleepy, Hermione secretly went to Ka-jie and discussed with her what Umbridge had said.
(Seriously, some people still question how Hermione became Minister for Magic. Go read the chapter on the Order of the Phoenix and the Sorting Hat's new song in the original Order of the Phoenix, and you'll understand how powerful Hermione is.)
The two of them extracted the key points from Umbridge's ramblings and analyzed the conflict and war between the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts Academy Magic.
Su Yu was stunned by what he heard. Sure enough, an external brain was really useful. He was almost asleep on Daphne's shoulder when these two were able to glean so much useful information from him.
Harry has been acting like a madman these past few months, arguing with everyone and everyone else. He blames everyone: Ron ignored him during the holidays, yet he became Prefect; Dumbledore ignored him, but he was only dismissed from his position—wasn't that more serious? Seamus just said that his mother believed the bad things about Harry in the newspapers, Harry started frantically slandering Seamus and his mother. Harry attacked almost everyone, including Sirius, Professor Moody, and so on...
It's like having hyperthyroidism; he feels like everyone in the world has wronged him, that he saved the world, and that everyone should be grateful to him instead of isolating him.
As the saying goes, "If you don't discipline someone for three days, they'll be climbing on the roof and tearing off the tiles." He just needed a good beating. When Minister Fudge interrogated him, he didn't dare utter a single word, relying entirely on Dumbledore. Seamus was a bit indecisive, torn between his mother and his best friend; he didn't know who to trust. And you, did you really have to go that far, opening your mouth to diss his mother?
When Molly believed the Daily Prophet was targeting Hermione, why weren't you so sharp-tongued? She could suffer injustice, but you can't?
(I'm so fed up with Harry. Maybe we should just kill him off, along with Ron. Seriously, just watching them Haha Haha)
