Early life

Bao'er was cared for by Chen Wan, whom she calls “Auntie Qing,” for her first four years. When Chen Wan discovered that someone was investigating them, she followed instructions left by Bao'er's mother: she brought Bao'er to Hang City, placed her at Angel Baby Childcare Center, and listed Zuo Yi as her emergency contact before leaving Daxia for their safety 472.

After a paternity test confirmed Zuo Yi as her father, he ended her childcare enrollment and brought her to the Zuo Family Old Residence. Bao'er accepted him as “Daddy,” received a room on the third floor, and began living with him permanently 22. Zuo Yi found that Chen Wan had raised her to be unusually independent: at four, Bao'er could dress herself, use the toilet, brush her teeth, and wash her face without help 23.

Early training and school

Bao'er asked Zuo Yi to teach her swordsmanship after seeing Sun Qiang's training.
