Classification

Noble Phantasms are divided into two stated categories: auxiliary types, which support a magus’s mana during Magecraft, and limited-function types, which produce a preset effect when activated. Kiritsugu Emiya’s handgun is identified as the latter type. 11

In the Holy Grail War system, rare Noble Phantasms or flesh can serve as media for inscribing a Heroic Spirit’s power into a person, creating an existence similar to a Heroic Spirit. 19

• Destroying a conventional magic knight’s Noble Phantasm can inflict backlash upon their soul, causing injury or unconsciousness. 77

Class Cards and Replication

Class Cards acquire Servant power through a connection to the Throne of Heroes. Most users receive less power than the original Servant because of compatibility and related limitations. 48

• Ritsuka discovers that Class Cards allow her to possess and steal Noble Phantasms. 21
