Background / History

Lucius Malfoy brings Draco to observe a business meeting with Lyon Shelby, intending to teach him about business. Draco remains mostly silent at first, but interrupts the discussion to ask whether Lyon is pure-blood; Lucius reprimands him sharply. Learning that Lyon likely created the Razor Gang and can use master-level Fiendfyre leaves Draco unable to accept that a half-blood peer has surpassed him. 9 10

At King’s Cross, Draco is openly reluctant to greet Lyon and initially treats him with hostility. In Slytherin’s prefect challenge, he attempts to exhaust Lyon by sending Crabbe and Goyle against him before challenging personally.
