Background / History

After Hulk’s Brooklyn rampage, Banner reverts to human form exhausted and unconscious. Lin Ye prevents General Ross from taking him, declares Banner under his protection, and transports him to a concealed Queens safe house. 5

Banner initially wakes terrified, distrustful of Lin Ye, and convinced that Hulk is an uncontrollable curse. Lin Ye instead values Banner’s scientific intellect, offers him shelter and equal access to research resources, and proposes studying Hulk as a power to understand and guide rather than suppress. Banner accepts refuge but needs time to trust the arrangement. 6

Once assured of the safe house’s security, Banner immerses himself in Hulk blood samples and gamma-energy research. His caution gradually gives way to focused scientific engagement as he collaborates with Lin Ye. 7

Following the Battle of New York, Banner relocates to Thunder Temple, where Lin Ye grants him a personal advanced laboratory and unrestricted research resources. The facility becomes the foundation for his work toward communicating with and controlling Hulk. 13
