Jack Wilson, a handsome white man, stood six feet tall and weighed 154 pounds.
A Level 6 S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and the chief person in charge of Manhattan, New York City.
On the surface, he had a mysterious and respectable job. In reality, he was a transmigrator and a minor Hydra leader.
The former was more important than the latter.
The latter was more lethal than the former.
But what was truly lethal was the system that had just arrived in Jack's hands, still warm from the transfer.
Multiverse-Level Supervillain System Also known as: Please, all you superheroes, team up and raid me, this epic-level dungeon...
The system's function was simple. Jack only needed to commit evil deeds, gather Evil Points, and eventually unlock the supervillain upgrade packages provided by the system.
Once he accumulated enough Evil Points, Jack could become a man who did whatever he pleased.
Of course, if Jack did good deeds, his Evil Points would be deducted. They could even fall into the negatives, bringing extremely severe negative effects.
There were gains and losses, even calculated to two decimal places, ensuring that not a single shred of evil went to waste.
It also provided a monthly settlement function, preventing him from accidentally doing good, suffering a drastic drop in strength, and getting seized upon and killed.
Pretty great, right?
Jack thought it was pretty great too. With an excited heart and trembling hands, he nearly reached into his own head and strangled the system to death.
Three years!
It had taken him a full three years to rise from a Level 2 agent to a Level 6 agent. That promotion speed was faster than any other agent's, but the price behind it was that he, an ordinary man from another world, had become a butcher with blood all over his hands!
He had gone from a good man to a bad man!
And now he had to become even worse!
Would Jack refuse?
He would not. He had personally experienced just how much darkness hid beneath the glamorous facade of this great era, and how many corpses were buried beneath it.
He did not want to become one more member of a mountain of bones. He wanted to stand alive upon the stage of this great era.
"Sigh, no matter what, the system has finally arrived..."
Jack let out a long sigh, then opened the system interface.
After quickly scanning through it, he felt that the system was pretty high-quality. It was extremely friendly toward people with indecision, and could even be called considerate.
After doing S.H.I.E.L.D.'s dirty work for three years, Jack currently had 500,000 Evil Points. That amount put Xu Dong right at the Minor Infamy stage, about 500,000 points away from the next rank, Regional Villain.
The system had also unlocked four skills for Jack: Evil Gaze, an active skill with no cooldown; Evil Sneer, an active skill with no cooldown; Hundred-Meter Blink, with a 30-second cooldown; and One-Ton Arm Strength, a passive skill.
Jack said, "System, can I switch packages... These things are seriously dragging down my image... I want my eyes to glow red..."
Taking a small mirror from his drawer, Jack gave his reflection a sidelong glance. That utterly evil gaze startled even Jack himself.
Jack had only ever seen such a striking gaze once before, when his boss, Director Fury, had flown into a rage.
Now, he possessed that equally striking gaze himself.
That filled Jack with anticipation for the skills that had yet to be unlocked.
"Looks like I need to do some dirty work, or some bad things, and save up Evil Points as soon as possible. Before Thanos gets the Infinity Gauntlet, I'll strike first and wipe him out!"
"Then, with the evil system and the Infinity Gauntlet, I'll be Marvel Homelander!"
"I'll do whatever the hell I want!"
"No one can stop me!"
Actions spoke louder than thoughts. With the idea of quickly gathering Evil Points in mind and several plans already forming in his head, Jack had no intention of staying in his office any longer.
But just as he got to his feet, his deputy, Marian, pushed open the door and walked in. The blonde agent, with her curvaceous figure, said, "Jack, Colonel Ross from the Department of Defense intends to capture Dr. Banner near Central Park in Manhattan."
"You were just transferred to desk duty this month and became S.H.I.E.L.D.'s person in charge for Manhattan, so you have to come with me to Central Park now."
"Banner..." Jack muttered. Then his eyes lit up as he nodded.
Who did not know that Hulk, after Banner transformed, was the most famous demolition crew in all of Marvel? Wherever Hulk went, real estate business followed!
Now Colonel Ross from the Department of Defense was trying to capture Dr. Banner. All Jack had to do was stop Colonel Ross a little and let Hulk demolish a few more buildings in Manhattan.
I really am one properly cunning villain!
Overjoyed, Jack picked up his suit jacket and prepared to put it on. But the sudden One-Ton Arm Strength immediately tore the clothes apart...
"My custom-made suit!"
"My entire month's base salary!"
Marian, who was waiting for Jack by the door, said with a face full of exasperation, "Wouldn't it be fine to wear what the agency issues?"
"You insisted on getting a custom-made suit, and now its quality is so awful that it tore with one pull."
"Enough, hurry up. Ross is still waiting for us."
"Once we finish dealing with that, we'll go find the shop that made your custom suit."
Jack threw the torn suit into the trash. Wearing only his shirt, he entered the elevator that had been waiting for some time with Marian.
The moment he entered the elevator, Jack saw the future Crossbones—the present Rumlow.
"Brock." Seeing his old friend, Jack stepped forward warmly to greet him.
Facing Jack, a fellow Hydra man who had fought beside him for more than two years, Rumlow was equally enthusiastic.
After the two bumped fists, the elevator doors closed. Suddenly remembering something, Jack leaned his back against the elevator wall, doing his best to avoid getting himself involved in Captain America's elevator fight.
Though he found it strange that Jack had suddenly changed positions, Rumlow did not think much of it. He teased, "Jack, ever since you were transferred out of the field agent division, I've rarely run into field agents as easy to work with as you. Everyone in our strike team misses you."
Rumlow's words made the other burly men of the strike team nod.
They were all Hydra. On top of that, Jack liked charging at the front line during battles. Who would not like a friend from the same faction who was both brave and willing to fight?
Having only received the system today, Jack gave a bitter smile and shook his head. "If I'd known desk work would be this boring, I wouldn't have transferred. I've been sitting in an office for a month, and I feel like my bones are about to rust."
"Then transfer back!" Rumlow said bluntly. "Hawkeye and the others think highly of you too. They think sending you to the desk agent division is a complete waste of talent."
Marian, the only agent in the elevator from a desk-work background, shot Rumlow an unhappy glance before withdrawing her gaze.
