When Jack brought the warmhearted Cage to Matt's law office, he found Sitwell there with a large group of agents.

"Jack? Why are you here?" Sitwell asked, looking puzzled.

Jack pointed toward Hell's Kitchen not far away. "Did you forget I got temporarily demoted? I've been staying around Hell's Kitchen every day, so I know what's going on nearby. You guys..."

Jack glanced at Cage, who was pretending to make a phone call beneath a distant streetlamp, then lowered his voice and asked Sitwell, "What happened? Is there a new mission? If it's dangerous, I want in. I don't want to keep staying in Hell's Kitchen."

"It's too boring here!"

After hearing that, Sitwell gave Jack a long look. After a moment of silence, he said, "This has something to do with your lawyer friend. I don't think it's appropriate for you to get involved."

"Lawyer friend? My lawyer friend?" Jack shot back with a strange expression, his voice growing louder.

"I've only met him a few times, and he's already my lawyer friend? If you don't want me involved... then just fucking say so!"

"Why bring up some lawyer friend?"

"You meet someone a few times and they become your friend?"

"You want me to rot away in Hell's Kitchen, don't you!!!"

Jack's sudden outburst drew the attention of quite a few agents. They glanced at the two men arguing, then turned back to whatever they had been doing.

Jack's sudden anger made Sitwell frown. He admitted that he might once have liked this motivated young man, but over the past month...

Jack had become more and more out of control.

Not only did he refuse to obey anyone's orders, but he also loved causing trouble everywhere. Now, he even wanted to stick his nose into something that clearly was not meant to involve him.

Did he really think he could do whatever he wanted just because he spoke to him in a threatening tone?

Just as Sitwell was preparing to teach Jack a proper lesson, Jack suddenly left without looking back, making Sitwell feel as though his fully charged punch had landed on cotton.

Jack had not left because Sitwell had frightened him.

It was because he saw Matt waving at him from a distance. He immediately gave up on entering the office, took a detour, and found Daredevil and Cage in an alley.

By the time Jack arrived, the two of them seemed to have been talking for a while.

Compared to Cage, though, Daredevil looked more eager to escape, yet he did not dare make any large movements for fear of drawing attention.

As Jack approached, Daredevil's abdomen was clearly already wounded by a gunshot. His lips were pale, his brow tightly furrowed, and he looked as though he were holding on through sheer willpower.

"Matt? What happened?"

Daredevil did not answer. He opened his mouth awkwardly. "I don't think this is the time to talk about that. I..."

Jack knew what Daredevil was troubled by. It was nothing more than this big Black guy suddenly showing up, grabbing him, and forcing him into an awkward conversation. Daredevil had no idea whether Cage was an enemy, a friend, or just some bored guy.

"Don't worry. The one standing beside you is Luke Cage. He's a superhero from Harlem. You can trust his character."

"Yeah, I know. He seems a little chatty when he's normal..."

"I suggested coming over to your place, and he talked to himself for quite a while..."

After hearing Jack say that Cage was a friend, Matt stopped hesitating. Having forced himself to hold on for so long, he leaned against the wall and slowly sat down, then began recounting what had happened over the past day.

It had to start with Washington.

For Captain America's pension and such, Matt had accompanied Captain America to Washington to handle some paperwork.

But Captain America's fame in the United States went without saying. He was basically the kind of person whose appearance and speech at the Super Bowl could be considered a classic opening.

So many Washington higher-ups who had heard that Captain America had returned to life—especially those old bones from the 1940s—insisted on meeting him, even if they had to be wheeled in from hospital beds.

In the words of those old bones:

"This is the man your grandpa was a fan of when he was young!"

"Look at those so-called tough guys on screen that you kids are fans of now!"

"This man actually fought in World War II and destroyed the evil organization Hydra while he was at it!"

So, after several gatherings of "the man your grandpa was a fan of has returned"...

That night, Daredevil dragged his exhausted body back to his hotel room with the help of his hearing and cane. Just as he was about to take a shower and go to sleep, his sharp hearing caught sounds coming through the wall next door.

Daredevil had not heard the earlier part of the conversation. He had only caught the latter half.

The rough meaning was that they were congratulating Captain America on his return. They had waited for years, and now they could finally make some major moves.

When Daredevil realized there was something wrong with that conversation, he climbed outside the window and tried to eavesdrop on more information, only to be discovered.

There was no need to say more about what happened next...

Basically, some handsome guy accidentally overheard an evil conversation, was discovered by evil people, and was then hunted down by them until he came to ask his friends for help.

As someone in the know, Jack immediately realized after hearing it that this was serious.

Captain America really was the Hydra Cap Jack had suspected before, and he had long since joined forces with Hydra.

That raised another question. Back when Captain America had sunk into the glacier, Tony's father had spent several years searching the glacier for him and still could not find him.

Yet Hydra found him first?

Then turned him into one of Hydra's people?

And finally threw him back into the glacier, waiting for S.H.I.E.L.D. to find him???

If that was really the case, then Hydra's leader back then—Red Skull—must have drunk eight pounds of fake liquor and gotten his head caught in a door to come up with such a brain-dead plan.

So Jack frowned. He felt that the logic of this entire matter made no sense at all, unless... unless there was something connecting the past and future, guiding everything in between.

What could that thing be...

Something I've always overlooked... Captain America... the Tesseract... the Tesseract!!! That's it!!! It can explain everything!!!

Jack thought for three minutes before finally focusing on the Tesseract, the object that allowed its holder to freely enter and leave any space, twist and rearrange space at will according to their wishes, and create new spaces.

If Nazi Hydra sensed that they were going to lose back then...

Then they used the Tesseract to create a new space...

Jack instinctively looked up at the sky. He knew there was only one way to verify whether this world was truly real.
