As Green left, the flowers and other plants in the garden all opened their eyes. Their eyes were deathly pale, with only two tiny pupils. The proportions were so wrong, so ill-suited, that the sight made his skin crawl. Deep malice filled those eyes as they stared fixedly in the direction he had gone.

But the creatures in the garden did not see the eye formed from a wisp of white smoke, staring just as fixedly at them.

Green walked along the road back from the garden. One of his eyes had turned pale, and two views flowed into his mind.

"Phew!" Green let out a long breath, grateful for his caution. Good thing he had kept one eye open. If he had risked crossing the garden, this body would never have had time to resist the ambush.

Back at the fork, Green headed down the other path without hesitation and passed through another archway of the same ash-gray design.

A hall appeared before him. It was in ruins, with several counters in the middle. Light flickered now and then across the surrounding walls, which looked like screens and occasionally displayed text. An inadequate energy supply and the ravages of time seemed to be the cause.

The scene looked like something from a ghost movie, but Green paid it no mind. Instead, he studied the words that flashed up now and then. Knowledge had been passed down in an orderly fashion throughout the Wizarding World, and its writing had changed little. The Chip could analyze the text.

Green's eyes lit up. He immediately began recording the words, then sent them through his Mental Power to the Chip in his body outside.

"High... sion...: three... Wizards... recommended... reward..."

"Low-level... sion: 1,000 ordinary... souls... reward: soul... water"
