Background / History
Agular is an aged Second-Circle Wizard of the Fire-Earth Elemental School. He is one of the school members who recognizes the importance of Lohr's talent for spell optimization, accepting Mara's transfer of one-fifth of the school’s apprentice slots as compensation for the loss of Lohr to the Earth-Fire School. 19
When Gulei sought to take Lohr as a student, Agular negotiated for Lohr’s autonomy instead. He signed a contract prohibiting interference with Lohr’s choice of First-Circle spell before Lohr reached the First Circle, then formally accepted Lohr as his student. 20 22
Agular was initially interested in having Lohr follow an established Fire-Earth spell path, but the rapid completion of the Microscope Spell caused him to reconsider. He and Gulei debated whether Lohr should be allowed to pursue independent spell creation and risky Spell Fusion research rather than merely optimize their existing systems. 25 26
After Lohr obtained a permanent laboratory, Agular personally explained its testing grounds, knowledge collection, Alliance-wide magic array, and annual allocation of 5,000 Contribution Points. 27 28
Before the Divine Kingdom Exploration Tournament, Agular opposed Lohr’s participation due to the danger posed by stronger apprentices. After witnessing the Small Lava Eruption Spell, he reluctantly permitted Lohr to enter and lent him fifty grams of Divine Power Crystals to improve his mental strength. 32
Following Lohr’s return from the Divine Kingdom, Agular accepted one hundred grams of Divine Power Crystals—fifty grams as repayment and the rest as interest—while showing less interest in Lohr’s wealth than Gulei did. 50
