To conquer the plane of Douluo Continent, vast numbers of abyssal creatures had been arriving on this layer from the various planes ever since the Black Empress issued her decree.
These lunatics, whose minds held nothing but destruction, possessed a madness far beyond that of intelligent beings. Most became sacrifices to open the planar passage. Their corpses piled upon one another into a mountain a hundred meters high, while the blood trickling down gathered into rivers. The increasingly thick, nauseating stench of blood did not quiet these abyssal creatures for even a moment. Instead, it stirred the bloodlust within them.
Before the planar passage had fully opened, abyssal creatures that already hated one another began fighting. These were not fights that could end with both sides sitting down to negotiate a reconciliation, but duels to the death in which they went for their opponents' throats from the outset. Such things would have been utterly inconceivable in human society, or even in the Soul Beast Realm. Yet to abyssal creatures, they were as commonplace as everyday meals. Rather than stopping them, the others delighted in watching.
Across the throngs of assorted abyssal creatures, battles erupted from time to time. Corpses, blood, and crimson formed the background of this scene.
At the very forefront of that mountain of corpses and sea of blood, before the planar passage being opened with slow and arduous effort, stood an enormous creature.
This was an exceptionally strange abyssal creature. It had six sharp claws and stood a hundred meters tall. A black, horny layer covered its entire body, and dark red liquid resembling magma flowed all over it.
