Background / History

Tsukuyomi is the true founder and concealed ruler of the Moon Capital, as well as one of the Three Deities. Although later perceptions portrayed her as an ineffectual recluse, she was among the principal forces who led the Moon Capital’s resistance against The Ominous and its invasion from another world. 813 843 915 998

During the struggle against The Ominous, Tsukuyomi surpassed her Divine Limit through a life-risking secret technique. The resulting contamination nearly killed her and required a complete reincarnation, but her breakthrough also allowed her to observe timelines and receive a prophecy concerning The Ominous’s defeat. 915

After learning of Mo Yi and the history of his parallel world, Tsukuyomi devised a millennium-long plan to make her own world’s past align with the world Mo Yi would reach. She separated a future possibility of herself and created Houraisan Kaguya as her “daughter” and clone, then had Yagokoro Eirin guide Kaguya through the events required to reproduce the tale Mo Yi knew. 909

Tsukuyomi subsequently used the Moon Eye Plan and Infinite Tsukuyomi to alter global perception. She erased or rewrote knowledge of The Ominous, modified Kishin’s memories, altered Eirin’s recollections, and withdrew to the Moon Capital for roughly a thousand years while preserving Mo Yi’s home on the surface. 943 997
