Not long ago, he had asked Iron Man to help make some indestructible clothes.
Iron Man had mulled it over, but forget clothes—even armor would not withstand Apocalypse's blows.
In the end, he had dug out a small piece of Vibranium left behind by his father Howard, stretched it into metal wire, combined it with some high-tech fibers, and made Apocalypse a pair of oversized briefs.
After all, Apocalypse wanted those clothes so he would not be as eye-searing as Hulk in battle.
Naturally, the important parts had to come first.
Apocalypse had hugged him twice. Was it too much to knit him a pair of underwear as a gift?
Unfortunately, there was too little Vibranium. It was all gone after making just one pair.
The outer clothes could only be made from tough materials found on Earth.
They were enough for ordinary battles, but the Destroyer's two blasts of destructive flame had burned his clothes to charcoal, leaving only the Vibranium underwear behind.
That was also one reason Apocalypse had not wanted to move.
Fighting in golden briefs in front of three beautiful women was seriously damaging to his image.
But now Thor could not handle two enemies by himself, and Sif had seen through his act of playing dead.
Left with no choice, he had been forced into it.
"Hehe! Great, Tang, you weren't dead after all. But those clothes..." Thor asked as he fought.
Apocalypse looked at Thor enviously.
Thor had just been wearing a T-shirt and jeans, yet after transforming, not only had his divine power and hammer returned, but his clothes had changed into gleaming armor and a cape. He looked incredibly cool.
"Thor, lend me your cape."
"No!" Thor shook his head firmly. "Not wearing clothes doesn't affect your combat strength. But if you wore my cape while naked, I would never dare drape it over my shoulders again."
"What do you mean, naked? Don't I still have shorts on?"
"Still no!"
Apocalypse was helpless. Thor was really not loyal enough. Were his good brothers worth less than a cape?
Fortunately, he had had the foresight to make a pair of oversized briefs in advance. Otherwise, this situation would have been truly embarrassing.
The Destroyer noticed Apocalypse approaching and immediately blasted him with destructive flame, dragging him into the battlefield.
Looking for death!
Apocalypse's eyes snapped open. Bare feet were not afraid of those wearing shoes.
I don't just have no shoes—I don't even have clothes. And you still dare provoke me?
"Roar..."
With an enraged roar, Apocalypse vented all his anger on the Destroyer.
With a sonic boom, he leaped high into the air and slammed one Destroyer to the ground with his body.
Then he grabbed its feet with both hands. The metal body, over ten meters tall, was hoisted high by Apocalypse and smashed brutally into the ground!
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Destroyer No. 1 was smashed senseless. Though physical attacks could not completely destroy them, they were enough to temporarily incapacitate them, at least preventing them from combining.
"Ow!" Thor suddenly cried out.
He was smashed down from the sky and landed face-first on the ground.
It turned out that while Apocalypse had been wildly swinging and smashing Destroyer No. 1 around, he had "accidentally" swatted the passing Thor out of the sky.
Thor flew into a rage. "Tang, did you do that on purpose?"
Boom... Apocalypse casually smashed the Destroyer down again and said during the opening, "How could you say that? I was smashing things over here. Why did you fly into my way?"
"You..."
Thor was speechless. It seemed to make sense, but something still felt wrong.
"Hurry up and destroy the other one. I don't have divine power, so I can't kill these iron lumps."
Thor stopped dwelling on it and soared into the sky again. Borrowing the power of lightning from the storm clouds, he dove straight down!
Without their combined coordination, a single Destroyer could no longer stop Thor.
Thor's Hammer pierced straight through Destroyer No. 2 from its head and flew out through the bottom. Countless bolts of lightning filled the Destroyer's dark body.
Sparks of lightning burst from within. Before long, Destroyer No. 2's flames went out, and it slowly fell.
Before Thor's Hammer could return to Thor's hand, Apocalypse reached out.
"Lend me the hammer!"
Thor's Hammer suddenly changed direction, streaked past Thor's hand, and flew into Apocalypse's grasp.
For a moment, Apocalypse seemed like a second Thor, lightning crackling all over his body as tornado storm clouds in the sky continuously struck down bolts of lightning, supplying energy to the hammer.
If not for the fact that wearing only oversized briefs made him look far less imposing, he would have been the spitting image of a second Thor.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
He hammered Destroyer No. 1 dozens of times in succession, forcibly flattening its body and completely annihilating the life within with the power of lightning.
The Destroyer tried to rotate its metal rings to recover. It twitched slightly, then went silent, leaving only dead stillness.
Thus, the two Destroyers were completely destroyed by Thor and Apocalypse working together!
"Y-you... You can actually lift Thor's Hammer?!"
Thor could hardly believe his eyes.
No wonder Apocalypse had said earlier that he was afraid of discouraging him. So this was what he had meant.
At that moment, no one cared about the Destroyers. Everyone was staring at Apocalypse, who held the hammer.
Sif, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and the others were Asgardian divine warriors. They knew better than anyone what it meant to be able to lift Thor's Hammer.
Several pairs of eyes remained fixed on the man holding Thor's Hammer. Their contempt had turned to anger, and now to admiration.
Even the way Sif looked at Apocalypse had changed. His image in her heart had been overturned once again.
If he had not been wearing golden oversized briefs, his image could have been even more impressive.
"Here's your hammer." Apocalypse tossed Thor's Hammer toward Thor.
Thor caught the hammer, his expression complicated.
He had thought he was the hammer's only owner. Who would have expected it to have a mistress outside—a man in golden briefs?
For a moment, he did not know what to feel.
Thor said, "No wonder Father invited you as a guest. If I hadn't awakened, would he have made you Thor instead?"
"How could that be? Haven't you awakened now?"
"But if..."
"No ifs. I don't like carrying a hammer around with me. It doesn't suit my image at all."
"Pah! What image do you even have..."
Daisy leaned close and said, "I think you look pretty handsome like this. The golden underwear is very distinctive too..."
Then she looked at Apocalypse with sparkling, expectant eyes, waiting for his response.
Jane rubbed her forehead speechlessly. Her intern had completely fallen for him.
Apocalypse could only change the subject. "I heard the Destroyer is your father's armor. Shouldn't there only be one set? Why were there two?"
Thor said, "There really is only one genuine set. The other was an imitation Father had made for me. It wasn't as powerful as the original, but I thought its design was too ugly and didn't like wearing it."
"Oh." Apocalypse understood.
Thor often patrolled and fought across the Nine Realms, so Odin naturally had to protect his son.
After all, his strongest armor had to be used by himself and guard the treasury. He could not let Thor take it outside, so he had made an imitation.
Who would have thought Thor refused to wear it simply because he thought it was ugly?
That was rather like parents and children on Earth.
No wonder the first Destroyer had been so weak that even Sif could knock it down.
Once the second one arrived, the two had even been able to execute some exquisite coordination, increasing their power by more than tenfold!
"Let's stop chatting. Now that the Destroyers have been killed, Loki definitely knows. He will surely speed up his scheme. You should think of a way to return to Asgard."
Thor realized that was true. Loki's matter could not wait.
If he returned too late, who knew what Asgard would be turned into.
Thor walked over to Jane. "I'm going back to fight now, and it isn't convenient to take you with me. I promise I'll return soon. Then I'll take you to see Asgard's Rainbow Bridge. The scenery there is beautiful and magnificent. We can watch it there all day..."
Jane softly said, "Then come back quickly. Don't leave me behind."
"I, Thor, swear upon Thor's Hammer..."
The two exchanged tender words and poured out their feelings. In the end, they shared a deep goodbye kiss.
Apocalypse looked at Sif, wanting to know how she reacted to watching the man she secretly loved embrace another woman right in front of her. To his surprise, Sif was looking at him too.
For a moment, they simply stared at each other, and the atmosphere became awkward again.
In the end, it concluded with Sif shooting him a fierce glare.
"Why are you glaring at me? I'm not the one kissing your man," Apocalypse said.
Sif was so furious she did not know how to respond. Her face flushed red as she turned away.
After Thor and Jane kissed goodbye, he called Apocalypse, along with Sif, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and the others. They stood in a circle and began calling out.
"Heimdall... Heimdall... Heimdall... Heimdall... Heimdall..."
Far away in Asgard's Rainbow Bridge control chamber, Heimdall, who had been frozen into an ice statue by Loki, heard the call and slowly awakened.
As the guardian of Asgard's Rainbow Bridge, he had devoted his life to his duty. No matter where Asgardians were, as long as they called him, he could answer.
Hearing the prince's call now, Heimdall's eyes snapped open. Gathering all his strength, he broke free from the ice covering his body.
Several of Loki's confidants were also in the control chamber. Hearing the sound, they gathered around him.
Heimdall showed no mercy. His sword rose and fell, killing them all.
Then he thrust his greatsword into the control chamber's central mechanism, using the last of his strength to open the Rainbow passage.
A ray of rainbow light descended from the sky, and Thor, Apocalypse, Sif, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and the others vanished from where they stood.
Only a scorching ancient rune remained in the desert.
Jane, Daisy, and Eric were left feeling lost.
They stared at the rune for a long time before finally leaving.
Carried by the rainbow light, Thor, Apocalypse, and the other six crossed endless cosmic space, flying toward Asgard.
