With a muffled blast, Loki in Apocalypse's hand turned into a burst of divine energy. Other than making Apocalypse's clothes flutter, it caused no damage.
Another duplicate!
Apocalypse knew things had gotten troublesome.
Loki had used duplicates twice. Though they possessed little strength, it showed that he had become extremely cautious and had hidden both his real body and the Mind Stone deeply away. Finding him anytime soon would likely be impossible.
Once the wormhole widened enough for the alien warships to pass through, Earth would face utter destruction.
Clearly, Loki understood that as well. That was why he had been so arrogant earlier.
Apocalypse might be powerful, but he had not reached Captain Marvel's absurd level of wiping out an entire fleet alone.
At that moment, countless space warships could faintly be seen on the other side of the wormhole, densely filling the void as they prepared for battle.
Just then, every Avenger received a message from Nick Fury:
"Attention, everyone. Two nuclear missiles are heading toward you!"
Apocalypse instinctively asked, "Wasn't there only one?"
"Two! I repeat, two!"
Nick Fury continued, "The council bypassed my authority and deployed nuclear weapons. One will strike the wormhole, and the other will strike the Tesseract. They will arrive in one minute and thirty seconds. You... should retreat!"
Obviously, the politicians on the council had seen and understood the same thing Apocalypse had—those space warships absolutely could not be allowed through!
They had directly deployed humanity's most powerful weapon, nuclear missiles. Even at the cost of sacrificing an entire city, they intended to destroy the wormhole.
Otherwise, with humanity's current level of technology, having not even landed on Mars, how could they possibly contend with space warships that roamed the stars?
In the original plot, two nuclear missiles had indeed
