Her hatred of Qian Xunji stems from his abuse and the forced pregnancy that resulted in Qian Renxue’s birth. Though Qian Renxue is her biological daughter, Bibi Dong struggles to show affection because the girl reminds her of Qian Xunji and her humiliation 1 2.

Her treatment of Bibi Xu reveals a gentler side she had suppressed for years. She personally arranged his nursery, monitored his medicine and physical training, chose his soul rings, and repeatedly prioritized his future over her own advancement 2 16 29. She is especially hostile toward anyone who attempts to use him as a political tool 3 11.

As Pope, Bibi Dong is a pragmatic and ambitious ruler. She recruits useful subordinates, suppresses rivals, and uses displays of strength to establish authority 38 46.
