The First Oasis of East Sea Bay

In the summer of Konoha Year 54, while most of the Ninja World was still enjoying postwar peace and recovery, a silent yet magnificent miracle was unfolding along the coast of East Sea Bay in the Land of Wind.

Completely unlike the scorching, lifeless scenes of past years, when yellow sand had filled the skies, what now met the eye was a breathtaking expanse of vibrant green. The once-barren sands had been divided into neat plots by orderly furrows and irrigation channels, where all manner of salt- and alkali-tolerant crops grew luxuriantly. Golden waves of wheat swayed in the summer breeze with a soft rustle; broad-leaved tuber crops were thick and glossy green; even experimental melons and fruits hung with unripe produce along their vines.

Several enormous Ecological Puppet: Seawater Purifiers stood half-submerged in the blue sea like loyal steel giants, their low hum the most beautiful melody on this land. Day and night, they drew in seawater and, through complex natural energy conversion and Sealing Formulae, separated out a continuous supply of clear fresh water, which was precisely delivered through the laid-out pipeline network to irrigate this long-thirsting land.

This was the result of Sunagakure's top-secret plan—the first artificial oasis in East Sea Bay.

Today, this oasis received its most important visitors. The Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, accompanied by his beloved Karura—while Temari and Kankurō remained in the village—stood atop a relatively high sand dune with Elder Chiyo, Ebizo, Jonin Baki, and Pakura, commander of the East Defense Zone, who had already been stationed here, overlooking this unbelievable sight.

Though they had long known of the progress here through reports, witnessing with their own eyes this vivid green that had abruptly yet tenaciously emerged from the endless sea of sand delivered a visual and emotional impact no words could describe.
