Background / History

Ryushiki was the posthumous son of Ōtsutsuki Chuanlong, creator of the Eight Inner Gates. His birth was delayed for millennia during a period of conflict over Chuanlong’s descendants, and he later spent a thousand years imprisoned in Dragon Palace City. He emerged with immense Chakra and the Rinne Tenseigan, but his power made the higher houses fear him rather than accept him. 867 901

Although he possessed exceptional strength, Ryushiki was originally treated as an outcast because of his Branch Family origin. After the death of his friend Tensato and a period of isolation by the Heaven-Piercing River, Ubiji intervened, cleared the charges against him, and accepted him as a disciple. Ryushiki was subsequently promoted to the Main House. 904 905

Under Ubiji’s guidance, Ryushiki developed into both a combatant and an inventor. His rivalry with Ōtsutsuki Sana became a major source of growth, while his contact with human suffering led him to seek ways to reduce the Ōtsutsuki’s dependence on Chakra Fruits and the destruction of lower worlds. 907 913 914

Ryushiki eventually served Second Princess Huiyue in exchange for the Ten-Tails she provided him. Rather than consume the Divine Tree Chakra Fruit awarded for his contributions, he gave it to Huiyue, choosing clan stability and her political survival over his own advancement. 868 919

During the Millennial Calamity, Ryushiki entered Mitsuki Country to avenge his sworn family members and destroy Yu’s Ten-Tails.
