Arc 4The Six-Village Melee

Enkō trained his new students, dismantled the Jashin Cult’s operation in Kusagakure, and led his team into the Six-Village Melee. The competition erupted into a clash with Kumogakure, and after Enkō’s team seized scrolls, an unseen woman stole one and fled.

  • Enkō recruited Might Yuan, Kagami Uchiha, and Uzuki Akane, tested their teamwork, and took them on a mission to investigate the Jashin Cult.
  • Enkō’s team infiltrated Kusagakure, defeated Duan Shang, and uncovered Wu Leng’s plan to use the Box of Ultimate Bliss.

Chapters 76–100 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 76Eternal Eye

Enkō returned to the Flame Hidden Village and proposed a way to use Blood Release to help the Uchiha brothers obtain the Eternal Eye. Madara agreed to help capture the Blood Release user after the Six-Village competition, while Enkō went to find Juri.

  • Enkō told Izuna and Madara he planned for the three brothers and Juri to compete in the Six-Village Melee, where Izuna hoped to fight Tobirama again.
  • Enkō explained his theory that Mangekyō Sharingan went blind when their ocular power could not sustain their techniques, and that transplanting related eyes could raise its limit.
  • Madara confirmed that the Uchiha clan had several pairs of Mangekyō Sharingan in reserve, while Izuna noted that past transplants had not produced the Eternal Eye.
  • Enkō revealed that he had taken Blood Release from a man at the Six Kage Summit and said its ability to assimilate bloodlines might let the stored eyes fuse with their bloodline.
  • Madara agreed to help capture the Blood Release user and his companions after the competition, and Enkō left to tell Juri about the event.

Ch. 77Guiding Teacher

Enkō visited Uchiha Juri and recruited her for the Six-Village Melee. Juri then assigned him three graduating students to train as their guiding teacher, and Enkō left after coming up with an idea for their first meeting.

  • After the dismissal bell, Enkō visited Uchiha Juri in the Ninja Academy principal's office.
  • Enkō explained the Six-Village Melee, and Juri agreed to participate while warning that Kumogakure and Konoha could cause trouble.
  • Juri asked Enkō to become a guiding teacher for a three-person squad of new graduates, and he reluctantly agreed.
  • Juri gave Enkō the profiles of his three students, including a junior from the Uchiha Clan, and arranged their first meeting for the next morning.
  • Enkō thought of a way to train the students and hurried off, leaving Juri amused.

Ch. 78A Traditional Test

Uchiha Enkō met his new students—Might Yuan, Kagami Uchiha, and Uzuki Akane—and challenged them to a dangerous bell test. The students agreed to cooperate and launched their attempt to take the bells from him.

  • Enkō introduced himself as the team’s instructor and said he wanted to change the future of the Shinobi World.
  • Might Yuan, Kagami Uchiha, and Uzuki Akane shared their names and reasons for becoming shinobi.
  • Enkō warned that he might drop students who failed his test, then took them to the training ground.
  • Enkō gave the three students until noon to take two bells from him and said at least one of them would be eliminated.
  • Kagami proposed that they cooperate, and Uzuki Akane planned a two-one formation with the boys drawing Enkō’s attention.
  • The three students began their attack on Enkō.

Ch. 79The Bell Test

Might Yuan, Kagami Uchiha, and Uzuki Akane fought Enkō in a bell test, combining their abilities but failing to take the bells. Enkō passed them anyway and said they would travel to the border after two days of recovery.

  • Might Yuan, Kagami Uchiha, and Uzuki Akane attacked Enkō together, but he countered each of them and criticized their fighting.
  • Might Yuan opened the Fourth Gate of Pain, Kagami Uchiha activated his Two-Tomoe Sharingan, and Uzuki Akane drew her second sword.
  • Might Yuan pinned Enkō in place while Uzuki Akane launched a barrage of sword strikes, giving Kagami Uchiha an opening to reach for the bells.
  • Enkō released a burst of chakra that shattered the sword lights and sent all three students flying, leaving the bells untouched.
  • Enkō declared that the trio had passed because they forced him to use chakra, then told them to recover for two days before traveling to the border.

Ch. 80Jashin Cult

Enkō and his companions encountered Jashin Cult members attacking a merchant caravan near the border and killed them, then set out to find the cult’s headquarters. Merchant Kafu offered increasingly large payments for their protection, and Enkō abruptly asked where the caravan was headed.

  • Kafu suspected the Land of Flame was preparing for something after noticing its increased purchases of medicinal herbs and grain.
  • Three Jashin Cult members attacked Kafu’s caravan, defeated its guards, and prepared to sacrifice the survivors.
  • Uzuki Akane killed all three cultists before Enkō could question one, and the group discussed the spread of the Jashin Cult and headed to seek its headquarters.
  • Kafu thanked Enkō, Uzuki Akane, Might Yuan, and their companion for saving the caravan and offered to pay for protection.
  • After Kafu raised his offer to three million ryo, Enkō interrupted Might Yuan and asked where the caravan was going.

Ch. 81Land of Grass

Enkō took Kagami Uchiha, Uzuki Akane, and Might Yuan to investigate the Jashin Cult, whose followers were killing people across the Land of Flame. After learning the cult had first appeared in the Land of Grass, he set out with his students, while a hidden man in Kusagakure prepared to open a mysterious box with the cult’s help.

  • Kafu paid Enkō for escorting him and said he would continue the journey without the group.
  • Enkō summoned a Ninja Cat and paid it to learn that the Jashin Cult had first been discovered in the Land of Grass.
  • Enkō told Kagami Uchiha, Uzuki Akane, and Might Yuan they would travel to the Land of Grass the next day to find the cult’s headquarters.
  • In a basement in Kusagakure, a masked figure warned a long-haired man that the Jashin Cult’s actions had drawn the Land of Flame’s attention.
  • The long-haired man refused to stop his efforts to open a huge black box and vowed to rule the Shinobi World.

Ch. 82Kannabi Bridge

Enkō brought Might Yuan, Uzuki Akane, and Kagami Uchiha to Kannabi Bridge and explained its strategic importance. Kagami and Akane followed a Jashin Cult group into the forest, where a fight left them facing a Jonin-level cultist until Enkō arrived.

  • Enkō explained that Kannabi Bridge was a key route for the Land of Earth to move troops through the Land of Grass.
  • Kagami spotted five bloodstained Jashin Cult members, sent Might Yuan to find Enkō, and followed them with Uzuki Akane.
  • Uzuki Akane ambushed the cultists, but their bald leader counterattacked with Wind Release: Gale Palm and sent her crashing into a tree.
  • Kagami burned the charging cultists with Great Fireball Technique, while the bald leader prepared to attack Kagami and Akane.
  • Enkō appeared beside the bald leader and pressed him back by the shoulder.

Ch. 83Box of Ultimate Bliss

Enkō led Kagami Uchiha’s team into Kusagakure to secretly investigate and eliminate the Jashin Cult. Beneath the village, Ryura used captives to feed the Box of Ultimate Bliss and planned to build a prison for powerful criminals, but the Jashin Orb alerted the cult that intruders had entered.

  • Enkō identified Kusagakure as the Jashin Cult’s likely base and led the team in disguised by the controlled bald man.
  • Two gatekeepers let the bald man into the village and revealed that Ryura wanted to open the Box of Ultimate Bliss.
  • Ryura drained a captive’s chakra into the Box, which swallowed the man, while Ryura argued with a masked Jashin Cult member about needing stronger victims.
  • Ryura proposed creating a prison for powerful criminals so he could use their chakra to open the Box of Ultimate Bliss.
  • The masked man sensed intruders through the Jashin Orb and agreed to confront them after Ryura promised to let the Jashin Cult spread through the Land of Grass.

Ch. 84Altar

Enkō and his team infiltrated the Jashin Cult’s underground headquarters to observe its ritual, but the ceremony exposed their presence and they attacked the followers. After Enkō confronted the cult elder, Duan Shang arrived and recognized him as Uchiha Enkō.

  • Enkō’s team followed a genjutsu-controlled bald man into a hidden underground chamber where Jashin Cult followers worshipped a black bead.
  • The bead released black chakra onto the cultists and the bald man, revealing the team’s hiding place.
  • Enkō sent the bald man into the crowd, where an Explosive Tag detonated, and Might Yuan, Uzuki Akane, and Kagami attacked the surviving followers.
  • The elder grabbed the black bead and tried to flee, but Enkō confronted him before Duan Shang attacked Enkō with a triple-bladed scythe.
  • Duan Shang recognized Enkō’s Flame Hidden Village headband, and Kagami and the others joined Enkō before Duan Shang identified him as Uchiha Enkō.

Ch. 85Instant Slash

Enkō defeated Duan Shang and took the Jashin Orb during a battle at the Jashin Cult’s underground altar. As Enkō and his companions prepared to leave, Wu Leng, the chief of Kusagakure, arrived and thanked them for eliminating the cult.

  • Duan Shang offered to cooperate with Enkō, but Enkō refused and attacked him.
  • Enkō cut through Duan Shang’s scythe and wounded him, but Duan Shang’s partly immortal body let him keep fighting.
  • Enkō used the Moonshadow Sword Secret Art: Skybreaker to blast through Duan Shang’s chest.
  • An elder threw Duan Shang the Jashin Orb, but Enkō intercepted it and killed Duan Shang with a slash to the face.
  • Enkō agreed to take the unconscious elder and investigate the orb, then Wu Leng arrived with a group from Kusagakure and thanked them.

Ch. 86Conspiracy

Enkō and his students rested in Kusagakure after destroying the Jashin Cult, while Wu Leng secretly planned to capture Enkō and use his chakra to open the Box of Ultimate Bliss. The chapter ended with Wu Leng’s subordinates blowing a knockout poison into Enkō’s room.

  • Wu Leng told Enkō that the Jashin Cult had forced Kusagakure to build its base, but Kagami doubted the village chief’s account after he left.
  • Enkō praised Kagami, Uzuki Akane, and Might Yuan for their mission and promised to promote them to Chunin after they gained more experience.
  • Wu Leng told his subordinates that he wanted Enkō’s chakra to open the Box of Ultimate Bliss and gave them a poison that would briefly incapacitate him.
  • Wu Leng’s subordinates approached Enkō’s room late at night and blew the knockout poison inside through a tube.

Ch. 87Hijacking

Enkō discovered that two intruders were trying to poison him and let them believe their plan had worked. After they carried him to a cave, Wu Leng realized Enkō had trapped them in a genjutsu, and Enkō confronted him.

  • Enkō sensed poison in his room and neutralized its effects while pretending to be unconscious.
  • Buling and his companion entered the room but collapsed after inhaling their own poison.
  • Enkō revived the pair, who mistook him for an unconscious captive and carried him away.
  • Buling and his companion brought Enkō to Wu Leng in a cave behind the Jashin Cult shrine.
  • Wu Leng realized the captive was an illusion, and Enkō's voice echoed through the cave as he addressed the village chief.

Ch. 88Opening the Box

Enkō confronted Wu Leng over the Box of Ultimate Bliss and revealed that its wish-granting legend was false. After Wu Leng’s attack failed, he sacrificed himself to the box and emerged transformed, ready to face Enkō.

  • Enkō entered the cave and recognized the Box of Ultimate Bliss, while Wu Leng tried to bargain with it.
  • Enkō told Wu Leng the box could not grant wishes, but Wu Leng refused to believe him and attacked with a kunai.
  • Enkō disarmed Wu Leng with two fingers and knocked him into the box, then killed Buling and the other subordinate.
  • Wu Leng leaped into the Box of Ultimate Bliss, which erupted with chakra and shook the cave.
  • Wu Leng emerged uninjured with pale skin and long white hair, claiming he had returned from hell.

Ch. 89Mind Reading

Enkō fought Wu Leng, whose corruption by the Box of Ultimate Bliss gave him a monstrous form and the ability to read opponents’ movements. After neither fighter could land a decisive hit, Enkō revealed his plan to take away Wu Leng’s Mind Reading.

  • Wu Leng embraced the power of the Box of Ultimate Bliss and transformed into a black-feathered monster as he challenged Enkō.
  • Enkō realized Wu Leng could anticipate his attacks through Mind Reading, an ability fueled by his opponent’s fear.
  • Enkō and Wu Leng exchanged hundreds of attacks in the cave, but neither could hit the other.
  • Wu Leng suggested ending the fight, while secretly planning to return after creating more Satori.
  • Enkō activated his Kagami no Mitama dojutsu and declared that Wu Leng would lose his Mind Reading.

Ch. 90Return Journey

Enkō defeated Wu Leng, sealed away the Box of Ultimate Bliss, and left Kusagakure with his students. On the journey home, legends about the box made Enkō recall a hidden enemy whose whereabouts he did not know.

  • Enkō overcame Wu Leng’s fear-based mind-reading, severed his arm, and killed him before he could reach the Box of Ultimate Bliss.
  • Enkō tried to cut the Box of Ultimate Bliss, then sealed it in a scroll and set fire to the cave.
  • The next morning, Enkō and his three students left Kusagakure while a village official explained that Wu Leng was absent.
  • Enkō sank the sealed box in a lake and told his students what had happened; Uzuki Akane and Might Yuan criticized Wu Leng’s choices.
  • Kagami Uchiha asked whether the box could grant wishes, prompting Enkō to warn against trusting legends and recall a hidden enemy.
  • Enkō invited his students to a new barbecue restaurant in the village.

Ch. 91Departure! Land of Wind

Enkō visited Kakuzu at the Daimyo Palace, discussed the Land of Flame’s finances, and gave him the Earth Grudge Fear technique while Kakuzu considered training successors. Enkō then joined Uchiha Madara, Izuna, and Uchiha Juri to depart for the Land of Wind, carrying Kakuzu’s detector to locate buried gold dust.

  • Enkō asked Kakuzu about the Land of Flame’s financial reserves, and Kakuzu said they had reached their target but war would consume resources quickly.
  • Enkō gave Kakuzu the Earth Grudge Fear scroll, but Kakuzu declined to learn it because he valued his family and offered to train successors instead.
  • Kakuzu gave Enkō a metal detector to locate gold dust buried beneath the Land of Wind’s deserts.
  • Enkō left the Daimyo Palace and told Uchiha Madara, Izuna, and Uchiha Juri that everything was arranged before they departed for the Land of Wind.

Ch. 92Sunagakure

Enkō, Madara, Izuna, and Uchiha Juri traveled through a sandstorm to Sunagakure for a competition, where they joined representatives from other villages. After reuniting with Hashirama, Enkō noticed unexpected figures among the gathered delegations and anticipated an intriguing competition.

  • Enkō explained that Sunagakure’s harsh environment and dependence on the Daimyo Palace could drive it to seek expansion, while cooperation with the Land of Wind remained uncertain because of Senju Hashirama’s deterrence.
  • The group arrived at Sunagakure and was welcomed by Shamon, who said that Iwagakure and Konoha had arrived while the Lightning Country and Water Country were still on their way.
  • Madara chose to see Hashirama first, and Hashirama greeted the group excitedly while telling Madara he was about to become a grandfather.
  • Enkō saw Tobirama with two people he did not expect and noticed the Iwagakure group studying them, prompting him to remark that the competition would be worth watching.

Ch. 93Kurama Clan

Enkō, Izuna, and Uchiha Juri arrived in Sunagakure for the match, where rival villages sized up the Uchiha and exchanged barbed remarks. As the visitors settled in, Enkō identified the other clans’ abilities and caught a Kamizuru bee spying on them, while its owner grew angry at the Uchiha’s assessment of his clan.

  • Reto welcomed Enkō and the others to Sunagakure, while Zhen mocked the village and Hashirama tried to smooth over the insult.
  • Hashirama, Madara, Mu, and Tobirama went to tour Sunagakure, while the others followed Shamon to their guest rooms.
  • Izuna and Uchiha Juri asked Enkō about the visitors, and he identified Aburame Shimaizumi, Kurama Qiye, Mu, Zhen, and a shinobi from the Kamizuru Clan.
  • Enkō spotted a Kamizuru bee spying on them and destroyed it with chakra.
  • The gray-haired Kamizuru shinobi realized Enkō had detected the bee and complained that the Uchiha had looked down on his clan, while Shimaizumi wondered why he had sneezed.

Ch. 94Mortal Enemy

The six villages began their desert scroll competition while their leaders watched through Hashirama’s Telescope Technique. As teams set out, Shamon chose caution, A pursued revenge against the Uchiha, and Tobirama revealed that he had manipulated Cloud Hidden Village into targeting Flame Hidden Village.

  • Hashirama introduced the Telescope Technique to the village leaders and agreed to share it after the competition.
  • The Raikage realized the leaders could monitor the teams and resolved to cripple Flame Hidden Village’s members rather than secretly kill them.
  • Shamon advised his team to avoid clashes and rely on their favorable primary-scroll numbers if they could not collect a matching scroll.
  • A told Kinkaku and Ginkaku that their goal was revenge against the Uchiha, then led them to find the clan using intelligence Tobirama had supplied.
  • Tobirama told Kurama Qiye and Aburame Shimaizumi that Konoha would compete normally while his deception encouraged Cloud Hidden Village to fight the Uchiha.

Ch. 95Dragon Vein

During the competition in the Land of Wind, Enkō searched for placer gold while planning to intercept teams carrying the scrolls they needed. Mad Fang sensed powerful Dragon Vein Chakra near the Country of Roran, and Enkō secretly marked the spot before noticing three figures approaching.

  • Izuna joked with Uchiha Juri about his luck, while Enkō used a detector to locate placer gold and marked the deposits on a map.
  • Enkō explained that the team would conserve its strength, search for gold as they moved toward the scroll submission point, and wait for an opportunity to intercept opponents.
  • Mad Fang sensed enormous, unusual Chakra about two hundred li east of the team, and Enkō identified it as the Dragon Vein Chakra in the Country of Roran.
  • Enkō marked the dune with a complex rune and asked Mad Fang whether the Dragon Vein Chakra could help heal his injuries.
  • Enkō sensed three figures approaching through the dust and sand.

Ch. 96Cooperation

In Sunagakure’s competition, Enkō’s team encountered Shamon’s Sunagakure team and proposed an alliance instead of fighting. Kumogakure arrived to attack the Uchiha, and Shamon agreed to cooperate if Enkō’s team dealt with them.

  • The Kage watched the competition, and Hashirama noticed Madara’s team had encountered another team.
  • Shamon and his two Sunagakure companions met Enkō, Uchiha Juri, and Izuna in the desert.
  • Enkō suggested that the teams cooperate to seize other teams’ scrolls, offering Sunagakure second place.
  • Kumogakure’s team arrived with killing intent aimed at the Uchiha.
  • Shamon agreed to cooperate and hand over Sunagakure’s scrolls if Enkō’s team defeated Kumogakure.
  • Enkō drew Demon Blade Cold Edge as the Kumogakure shinobi confronted them.

Ch. 97Battle Begins

Enkō, Izuna, and Juri faced the Raikage and the Gold and Silver Brothers, with Kumogakure seeking revenge during the competition. As the Kage argued over whether the confrontation broke the rules, Reto announced that the battle had begun.

  • Second Raikage A confronted Enkō and accused the Uchiha Clan of killing Kumogakure's people, while Shamon withdrew Sunagakure's representatives from the confrontation.
  • Kinkaku and Ginkaku drew their Six Paths Ninja Tools, and Enkō explained their weaknesses to Izuna and Juri before the fight.
  • Enkō assigned himself to face the Raikage's son and told Izuna and Juri to separate and restrain Kinkaku and Ginkaku.
  • Hashirama objected to Kumogakure using the competition to settle a private grudge, but First Raikage A argued that the rules allowed it.
  • Madara mocked First Raikage A, who angrily challenged him, and Hashirama and the other Kage intervened to stop them from fighting.
  • Reto noticed the battle in the arena had begun and urged the Kage to watch it.

Ch. 98Fierce Battle in the Great Desert

Enkō fought the Second Raikage in the desert and used Flying Thunder God: Second Step to cut through his Lightning Armor and nearly sever his spine. As the wounded A called for help, Izuna stepped in to face the Gold and Silver Brothers.

  • Enkō and the Second Raikage charged and clashed in the desert.
  • A dodged Enkō’s Cold Edge, then unleashed a lightning-charged sand wall that swallowed Enkō.
  • Enkō used Flying Thunder God: Second Step to strike A from behind and inflict a deep wound.
  • A knocked Enkō away, slowed his bleeding, and called on his teammates to help.
  • Gold and Silver moved to support A, but Izuna landed before them and challenged them.

Ch. 99Little Yellow and Little White

Izuna and Chiri overwhelmed Kinkaku and Ginkaku in the competition, prompting the Raikage to fear for Kumogakure’s strongest fighters. The Raikage sat back down after Madara refused to intervene, but warned that Kumogakure would fight Flame Hidden Village to the death if the three shinobi died.

  • Kinkaku attacked Izuna with the Banana Fan, but Izuna summoned his Susanoo and split the firestorm with its blade.
  • Chiri attacked Ginkaku with her Butterfly Dance sword style, wounding him repeatedly while Izuna kept Kinkaku occupied.
  • Izuna struck Kinkaku with Yasaka Beads, and Ginkaku was badly wounded when he looked away to cry out for his brother.
  • The Raikage rose to intervene, but Madara pinned him down with his chakra and refused to stop the fight.
  • The Raikage returned to his seat and threatened war between Kumogakure and Flame Hidden Village if Kinkaku, Ginkaku, and their companion died.

Ch. 100Changes

Enkō defeated the Second Raikage, A, and claimed his scrolls, but an unseen attacker stole one before he could take it. Enkō identified the direction of the thief and declared that she could not escape.

  • Enkō wounded A with Cold Edge and struck him with a Fire Release Rasengan, but A unleashed Lightning Explosion at close range.
  • Enkō used A’s Lightning Armor to withstand most of the blast and forced him to surrender two scrolls.
  • As Enkō reached for the scrolls, an unseen attacker stole the secondary scroll and vanished without being detected.
  • Izuna joined Enkō and said the attacker’s concealment made her impossible to track.
  • Enkō looked toward the attacker’s direction and said she could not escape.
