Background

The League of Heroes first appears when a purple lightning strike creates its metallic headquarters in New York's suburbs amid a worldwide supernatural upheaval. Li Chen immediately declares the beginning of an “era of heroes,” while Monster Factors begin mutating people and other beings into threats across the planet 1.

Li Chen initially presents the organization to Nick Fury as the Hall of Heroes, a cross-dimensional guardian group operating beyond S.H.I.E.L.D.'s authority. He claims that its purpose is preserving the multiverse's underlying stability rather than protecting humanity itself; human extinction is acceptable to the League so long as the world's structure remains intact 3.

The organization grows through native recruitment, cross-dimensional summons, monster hunting, and artifact conversion. Its early operations center on New York, where its members fight mutant and Deep-Sea Clan incursions while accumulating Energy Points for further expansion 2 5 13.
