Background / History

Thor was exiled to Earth after recklessly attempting to start a war with Jotunheim. Odin sealed his divine power, leaving the formerly arrogant prince mortal and unable to rely on Mjolnir. During his exile, he became involved with astrophysicist Jane Foster. Li Chen deliberately delayed contacting him, believing Thor needed hardship and humility before he could qualify for the League of Heroes. 6

Li Chen confronted Thor in New Mexico over his attempted war and inability to protect Jane while powerless. After Li Chen demonstrated Jane's vulnerability to psychic force, Thor accepted a League bracelet and chose to train rather than depend on S.H.I.E.L.D. or his former status. Jane accompanied him to League headquarters. 7

Thor sought Grandis's instruction in Godhead Fist, a martial art capable of killing gods and demons when perfected. Her training exposed his lack of technical skill: she repeatedly defeated and healed him, then imposed a deadline to master the basics or lose his hair. Thor persisted despite the humiliation. 8 9

During the Deep-Sea Clan invasion of New York, Thor's pride repeatedly endangered civilians. He recklessly challenged an Orca Monster, was instantly defeated, and later refused to retreat when surrounded by Deep-Sea Clan forces. The resulting casualties forced him to recognize that courage without judgment could harm those he intended to save. 13 14

Ashamed by the avoidable deaths during evacuation operations, Thor later asked Li Chen for permission to return to Asgard and confess to Odin. Li Chen instead subjected him to a Sharingan-generated vision of Asgard's destruction by Hela. The illusion awakened Thor's thunder power and reinforced Li Chen's demand that he become strong enough to face Asgard's future threats himself. 19 20

After restoring his connection to Mjolnir, Thor returned to Asgard through the Bifrost. He later deployed to Vanaheim under Odin's orders, demonstrating both immense destructive power against the Dark Elves and greater tactical restraint when Shurima's forces appeared. 21 39 40

Appearance

Thor is a tall, heavily built Asgardian with blond hair and a warrior's physique. During his mortal exile, he wore leather armor and retained a strong attachment to his long blond hair; Grandis eventually cut it after he failed her training condition. 7 9 13

His failures reshape him. Civilian deaths during the Deep-Sea Clan crisis leave him deeply ashamed, while the illusion of losing Asgard and his family drives him to awaken his latent power. By the time he returns to Asgard, he seeks forgiveness rather than status and is motivated by responsibility to his people. 14 19 20 21

Thor remains impulsive and competitive, particularly in dungeons, where he repeatedly chooses challenges beyond his preparation. However, his later withdrawal from Shurima's forces in Vanaheim shows a growing willingness to prioritize evacuation and strategy over personal glory. 42 43 40
