The Extreme Coldstorm: Staying Behind

Ye Xing walked over to Lin Yi and asked quietly, "Big Brother, what do we do now?"

Lin Yi looked back. The blizzard, growing more violent by the moment, had completely engulfed Snow Elf City.

A curtain of snow blotted out the sky and sun. The wind shrieked like countless Ferocious Beasts roaring.

And yet not a trace of the raging wind or snow entered the area where the city stood.

"What else can we do? We'll have to stay here for now," Lin Yi said helplessly. "More importantly, our Flying Boat is badly damaged."

"How strange. The area around Snow Elf City hasn't been touched by the blizzard at all," Lin Yi said.

Lin Yi turned his gaze back to Xue Ling on the city wall. Grabbing Ye Xing, he flashed to her side.

The Snow Elves on the wall immediately grew wary. They watched Lin Yi and Ye Xing, their hands returning to their bowstrings.

"Ahem." Lin Yi cleared his throat twice and asked with studied casualness, "What's going on with this blizzard?"

Xue Ling glanced at Lin Yi and waved a hand at those behind her.

An unreadable emotion flickered through her eyes, but she answered anyway. "This is the Extreme Coldstorm that strikes the Snow Region once every hundred years. Its power is terrifying. It wasn't supposed to erupt for another three months. I don't know why it came early."

"Early?" Lin Yi was surprised, but then something occurred to him.

He glanced at Ye Xing beside him and found Ye Xing looking back.

Their eyes met, and they immediately understood why the Extreme Coldstorm had come early. Needless to say, Heaven's Annoyance was at work again.
