Background

Jiang Di was an ordinary antique enthusiast before purchasing a dirt-covered Little Jade Disc. After his blood touched the disc during an accident, he transmigrated to the newly created Primordial World and awakened as Dijiang, the first-born and eldest of the Twelve Ancestral Witches. His true body was initially a massive mass of Pangu essence blood within the central blood cocoon of Pangu Hall. 1

Aware of the Witch Clan’s destined destruction, Dijiang identified its central weakness: World-Opening Turbid Qi and Earthly Killing Intent could temper an Ancestral Witch’s body, but would contaminate the soul and prevent the formation of a Primordial Spirit. The Jade Disc changed this fate by transforming the hostile energies in Pangu Hall into pure innate spiritual qi. 1

To cultivate without interrupting the purification process, Dijiang painfully split off part of his core consciousness and placed it in the Jade Disc. This fragment functioned as a rudimentary artifact spirit, continuously operating the treasure while Dijiang concentrated on cultivation. His success allowed both himself and his eleven younger siblings to form Primordial Spirits. 2

After transforming, Dijiang led the Twelve Ancestral Witches beyond Pangu Hall, imposed group-travel rules for their safety, and began securing resources throughout the Primordial World. His early expeditions brought the group into conflict with the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans, while also revealing the cost of challenging enemies beyond their realm. 3 8 9

Appearance

Dijiang usually appears as a tall, slender young man in an Innate Dao Body. His appearance reflects the Ancestral Witches’ Pangu lineage and his affinity for the Space Law. 2

  • Ink-black hair and a handsome, transcendent face. 2
  • Naturally majestic bearing and restrained, intimidating presence. 2 12
  • Silver spatial laws flicker within his eyes. 2
  • Later appears in azure robes with his spatial aura completely concealed. 12

Personality

Dijiang is calculating, cautious, and intensely protective of his family. He plans around the Primordial World’s known dangers, refuses to let his siblings travel alone, and repeatedly prioritizes their survival over immediate gains. 3 10 26

He is pragmatic rather than needlessly violent. He harvests useful materials from enemies and disasters, but also favors mutually beneficial negotiations when force is unnecessary, as shown by his agreements with the Phoenix, Dragon, and Qilin Clans. 6 27 29 30

Despite his pragmatism, Dijiang accepts responsibility for weaker beings. He turns Mount Buzhou into a sanctuary, creates a universal cultivation method for its inhabitants, and establishes institutions to preserve order and transmit knowledge. 14 16 36

As a teacher, he is demanding and selective. He refuses to transmit the Dharma lightly, tests Six-Eared Macaque’s sincerity over thousands of years, and allows his disciple to endure the hardships of his chosen cultivation path rather than shielding him from every danger. 40 41 42

Abilities & Skills

Space Law

Dijiang was born with mastery over the Law of Space and develops it into his primary means of movement, combat, concealment, and formation-breaking.

  • Uses spatial teleportation to cross immense distances and rescue allies in moments. 5 7 8
  • Employs Spatial Imprisonment to immobilize enemies and freeze large-scale formations. 6 26
  • Uses Space Folding, Space Severing, Spatial Teleportation, and Space Displacement after reconstructing his understanding of Space Law. 20 24 25
  • Can conceal evidence of his presence and erase karmic traces after battles or thefts. 6 25
  • Broke the innate formation on the Purple Star and suppressed the Purple Tenuity Emperor Sword’s imperial aura. 32
  • His power can strain his body when used beyond his current limits; killing two Late Great Principals and transporting his siblings required burning origin blood essence. 8 9

Pangu Bloodline and Physical Body

As the first essence blood conceived within Pangu’s heart, Dijiang possesses an exceptionally powerful body and an innate bloodline connection to the other Ancestral Witches.

  • Can sense his siblings’ danger through bloodline resonance. 7
  • Uses Pangu bloodline resonance to summon the scattered Ancestral Witches back to Pangu Hall. 10
  • Caught a mid-stage Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal’s full-force sword strike between two fingers and snapped the Dragon Abyss Sword barehanded. 6
  • His physical body and Space Law enable him to kill opponents whose apparent cultivation surpasses his own, though such victories can carry severe costs. 6 8 9

Creation Jade Disk

The Creation Jade Disk is Dijiang’s defining treasure and the source of many of his greatest advantages.

  • Converts World-Opening Turbid Qi and Earthly Killing Intent into pure innate spiritual qi. 1 2
  • Enabled Dijiang and the other Ancestral Witches to cultivate Primordial Spirits. 2
  • Contains forty-nine innate restrictions, identifying it as an Innate Supreme Treasure; Dijiang refines thirty-six layers at the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal limit. 2 3
  • Its creation energy repairs Dijiang’s damaged origin, meridians, and Primordial Spirit after he burns his essence blood. 9 10
  • Purifies demonic qi from Qiang Liang’s wound with purple-gold creation light. 16
  • Provides deductive power used to develop the Pangu Heart-Clearing Formula. 16

Formations and Governance

Dijiang combines spatial mastery with strategic administration to turn Mount Buzhou into a protected sacred land.

  • Concealed the Primordial Gourd Vine within a Triple Spatial Maze Array. 4
  • Created a massive Spirit-Gathering Formation using Mount Buzhou and its earth veins, shielding refugees from Pangu’s pressure while enriching the region’s spiritual qi. 14
  • Established rules prohibiting internal killing, oppression of the weak, and the presence of heavily karmic or corrupt individuals. 36
  • Founded the Dao Protector Army to enforce Mount Buzhou’s laws and the Dao Transmission Pavilion to preserve the Ancestral Witches’ teachings. 36

Dao Teaching

Dijiang teaches a practical cultivation path centered on breathing methods, spiritual-energy absorption, Primordial Spirit protection, body strengthening, and the Great Dao of Space. 35 39

  • Created the Pangu Heart-Clearing Formula, a universal method suitable for all races under Mount Buzhou’s protection. 16
  • Uses Dao teachings to deepen the inhabitants’ faith, cultivate capable followers, and gather fortune for the Pangu Orthodox Lineage. 33 36
  • Announces the Primordial Origin Great Dao as an alternative to Hongjun’s Three-Corpse Severing path. 42
  • Accepted Six-Eared Macaque as his direct disciple after the monkey demonstrated exceptional Space Law comprehension and persistence. 40

Pangu Phantom

Dijiang can invoke the Pangu Phantom as a source of overwhelming suppression.

  • Used it to hold Yuanshi Tianzun beneath an unyielding lock during negotiations with Hongjun. 49
  • Seeks the Pangu Banner because combining the three Heaven-Opening Treasures could further strengthen the phantom. 49

Story Role / Major Arcs

Birth and Transformation

Dijiang transmigrates into Pangu Hall, discovers the Creation Jade Disk’s purification ability, and dedicates himself to changing the Witch Clan’s doomed fate. He creates an artificial artifact spirit from his own severed consciousness, cultivates a Primordial Spirit, reaches the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, and transforms into an Innate Dao Body. 1 2

First Expedition and Three-Clan Conflicts

He organizes the Twelve Ancestral Witches into balanced teams and leads Houtu and Xuanming across Mount Buzhou. During this period, he conceals the Primordial Gourd Vine, claims early Sea-Calming Divine Pearls, defeats Dragon Clan and Phoenix Clan elders, and suffers severe backlash after burning origin blood essence to save Zhu Rong, Zhu Jiuyin, and Tian Wu. 3 4 6 8 9

Mount Buzhou Refuge

Rather than immediately establish a bloodline-based Witch Clan, Dijiang directs the Ancestral Witches to shelter weak creatures and rogue cultivators displaced by war. He builds the Spirit-Gathering Formation, gathers millions of refugees, identifies the threat of demonic qi, and transmits the Pangu Heart-Clearing Formula to protect and cultivate the population. 13 14 16

Dao-Demon War and Treasure Seizure

Dijiang acts as the “last oriole” during the Dao-Demon conflict, using Space Displacement to seize major treasures from Luo Hou and deny Hongjun sole control of the spoils. He later distributes many of these treasures among the Ancestral Witches, retaining the Four Swords of Immortal Execution. 24 25

Deals with the Three Ancient Clans

Dijiang establishes reciprocal relationships with the Phoenix, Dragon, and Qilin Clans. Rather than raid their weakened factions outright, he exchanges the Ancestral Witches’ specialized Laws for treasures, merit, and future political support. 26 27 29 30 31

Mount Buzhou Sacred Land

He expands Mount Buzhou from a refuge into an organized lineage through public Dao lectures, formal laws, a protector force, and a permanent repository of teachings. The faith and fortune of billions of beings become a major source of power for the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 33 35 36

Six-Eared Macaque’s Apprenticeship

Dijiang recognizes Six-Eared Macaque’s potential after the monkey grasps the rudiments of Space Law from his teachings. He accepts him only after repeated tests of sincerity, then grants him the Ninefold Mysterious Technique and permits him to pursue simultaneous cultivation of body, Primordial Spirit, and Laws. 39 40 41 42

Contest for Fortune

Dijiang openly competes with Hongjun’s influence by teaching the Primordial Origin Great Dao instead of attending the second Violet Firmament Palace sermon. After advancing to the late Primordial Golden Immortal realm, he sends the Twelve Ancestral Witches across the world to secure Innate Spirit Treasures before rival Quasi-Saints can claim them. 42 44 45

Negotiation with Hongjun

After Yuanshi Tianzun is suppressed by the Pangu Phantom, Dijiang forces Hongjun to provide twenty-four Sea-Calming Divine Pearls and the Myriad Poisons Pearl as compensation. He conditionally agrees to attend Hongjun’s final sermon only if Hongjun yields the Pangu Banner. 49
