Rage Erupts, Uchiha Runs Wild
Rows of wooden stakes rose from the ground, stretching all the way to the meteor-shaped mass of flame.
Uchiha Madara was startled for an instant. The B-rank Fire Release: Majestic Destroyer Flame was devastating. After the initial impact, the flames would split apart on landing and spread into a sea of fire.
But row after row of wooden stakes stopped the powerful Majestic Destroyer Flame.
"Madara! I'm not being naive," Senju Hashirama said. "I mean what I'm telling you. I won't just talk about it—I'll do it. Believe me!"
"Believe you? How am I supposed to believe you? Open your eyes and look. Your clansmen and the ninja allied with the Senju Clan are being killed by the Uchiha Clan."
With that, Uchiha Madara charged at Senju Hashirama in a fury. He swung his Gunbai down hard, striking the armor wrapped around Hashirama's forearm. "And my clansmen are being killed by your Senju Clan's ninja too!"
It was the truth, and there was no arguing with it. Everywhere they looked, people were fighting to the death.
There was no telling how many bodies lay on the ground. Most had fallen to blades and kunai; only a few had been blasted apart by ninjutsu.
Senju Hashirama fell silent for a moment. "If I can end this war, will you consider what I said?"
Uchiha Madara's face filled with disdain. This war had begun centuries ago. How could a blood feud built up over hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years end with a few words?
Yet in the depths of Senju Hashirama's eyes, he saw resolve. It was as though Hashirama truly could end the war if Madara agreed right now.
Should I try to believe him?
Could he really end the feud that had lasted between the Uchiha and Senju for centuries?
If the two clans' hatred could be put to rest, why had they kept fighting for hundreds of years?
His urge to kill gradually faded. The terrifying bloodlust vanished in an instant, and he drew in his formidable presence until he seemed almost ordinary.
Uchiha Madara said, "All right. I believe you."
Senju Hashirama smiled in relief. "I'll make it happen."
For a moment, it seemed as though the centuries-old feud between their clans had truly been resolved.
Uchiha Madara was curious how his friend Senju Hashirama planned to end today's pointless war.
"Everyone! Listen to me! Our war is over!"
"Please, believe me! Believe that there's nothing we can't sit down and talk through!"
"So from this moment on, everyone in the Senju Clan and every ninja under our command, listen to my order: stop fighting and withdraw!"
Senju Hashirama shouted with a broad grin.
Uchiha Madara covered his face with one hand. Knowing Senju Hashirama was honestly embarrassing. What kind of person had the nerve to say something like that?
"A ceasefire? Why, Clan Head Senju? Our clan's ninja have been killed by the Uchiha! Why should we make peace with them?"
"I don't understand, Clan Head! My older brother and my younger brother were both killed by the Uchiha Clan and the Hagoromo Clan. If we make peace with the Uchiha just like that, what did my brothers die for?"
"I refuse to stop fighting!"
The Senju ninja angrily rejected the ceasefire. None of them wanted to end a feud that had lasted for centuries.
Uchiha Madara's face darkened. The bloodlust that had just vanished came surging back, more terrifying than before. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan brimmed with killing intent as he stared coldly at Hashirama. "You failed."
He was about to attack when Senju Hashirama gritted his teeth and stabbed a kunai into his own body. "Please believe me! This fighting is pointless. We can sit down and make peace. Then we can all live together peacefully, and no one else will have to die in a war like this."
Everyone was stunned by what Senju Hashirama had done. For a moment, they seemed to forget they were on a battlefield. They fell silent and stopped fighting.
Uchiha Jobu lowered his head in thought. Is making peace with the Senju Clan inevitable? Like those stories say, small events can be changed, but the course of fate cannot?
He had changed so much, and the Uchiha Clan was far stronger now.
Yet it seemed that peace between the Senju and Uchiha was something he could not change.
Or was the Six Paths Old Man, who had never truly died, secretly steering the course of the Ninja World?
In those ancient fantasy worlds, there was a Dao Ancestor who had merged with the Heavenly Dao.
The Ninja World had a Six Paths Old Man lurking in it. It did not seem impossible that he was secretly guiding the course of events.
Just then, Uchiha Jobu looked up and saw a figure darting toward Uchiha Izuna from behind. There was no time to reach him. All Jobu could do was shout a warning.
"Izuna! Get out of the way!"
Uchiha Izuna reacted, turning to meet the attacker head-on.
"Die!"
Whether this was an early form of the Flying Raijin Technique, developed before the technique itself, no one could say. All they saw was Tobirama Senju moving so fast that his figure blurred.
"Izuna!"
"Every last Senju deserves to die!"
Seeing his younger brother Uchiha Izuna attacked by Tobirama Senju, Uchiha Madara flew into a rage. He turned toward Tobirama, his killing intent erupting like a volcano. "I'll kill you!"
The Three-Tomoe Sharingan in his eyes grew unstable. Its tomoe began to tremble, as though they might split apart and dissolve into ink.
"Madara! Don't! He's my brother!"
"Your brother? Your brother nearly killed Izuna!"
"I still find your naivety laughable. Are you going to keep talking about your dreams? You can die too!"
