The entire story of Naruto revolved around Konoha. It touched on the Warring States Era now and then, offering only a rough glimpse of how chaotic and brutal that time had been.

So Uchiha Jobu had crossed over not into the Shinobi Village Era, but into that merciless age of war. He had none of a time traveler's advantage of knowing what lay ahead. He didn't even know whether the Chinoike Clan's ninja had really joined forces with other clans or some other power.

Still, the intelligence they had allowed for a few guesses. The Chinoike ninja couldn't be trying to seize the Land of Lightning on their own. No single ninja clan could match an entire nation.

A major nation like the Land of Lightning employed plenty of ninja clans. If the Chinoike Clan truly tried to swallow it alone, several clans would join forces to crush them.

Shinteng Zoi's face went pale. "You Uchiha, you have to keep me safe! My sister is His Lordship's lawful wife. If the Chinoike ninja kill me, she'll lose my help, and that little wretch trying to claw her way out of the mud and become a noblewoman will have her killed!"

Uchiha Jobu said, "I accepted your mission. Until it's finished, you don't need to worry about your life."

After hearing her out, Uchiha Madara rose, picked up his Gunbai, and sneered. "The Ketsuryūgan, is it? I'll show the Chinoike ninja that even among clans with dōjutsu, their clan is nothing but ants before the Uchiha."

No one disputed him, not even Ying, who wasn't an Uchiha.

Izuna Uchiha's face darkened. "Brother, the Senju Clan won't just stand by while you go to the Land of Lightning. I'll go instead. There's no need for you to act."

Uchiha Setsuna said, "This isn't a game. If we rank your strength by the Genin, Chunin, and Jonin levels, you're only at Chunin level now. You can't deal with the Chinoike Clan's strongest fighters without Jonin-level strength."

Izuna Uchiha ignored the others and continued, "Jobu asked for fifty clan members. I think ten Uchiha, twenty Hagoromo Clan ninja, and twenty other wandering ninja who've submitted to us will be enough."

Uchiha Madara said, "You can go if you give me a reason to agree. Otherwise, I won't allow it."

Meeting his brother's stern gaze, Izuna Uchiha seemed for a moment to see their father. Pain stabbed through his heart, and his expression darkened further. He nodded. "I've gained the Hagoromo Clan's Kekkei Genkai."

"What?!"

"Impossible! How could you have the Hagoromo Clan's Kekkei Genkai?"

"Wait! That's right. Jobu showed us the Shikotsumyaku before, and his maid gained the Kaguya Clan's power too. She has the Shikotsumyaku Kekkei Genkai."
