Well, it should actually have been called the Flame Hidden Village. When the village was first being built, the daimyo of the Land of Fire had suggested that name, but Uchiha Jobu immediately rejected it. On one hand, he wanted to recreate the village from his memories, so he would remember that he came from another world. On the other, he could use the Will of Fire to shape Konoha and fool people.

The daimyo of the Land of Fire was seeing ninjas use ninjutsu to build a village for the first time. All kinds of unimaginable techniques dazzled the eye. Firelight and lightning intertwined, blasting apart mountains and rocks that blocked the way. Water currents and wind blades swept through, washing the ground spotless. An earth dragon turning over became a ditch through which a stream could flow.
