Background

Ling Wudao was originally a man from the 21st century. He awakened after transmigrating into the body of a young Human Race member who had died after being swallowed by a giant wave while fishing. Suirenshi rescued him, and Ling Wudao soon obtained the Mythical Talisman System and its novice gift: the Mythical Talisman Forging Record, containing the Mythical Great Luo cultivation method 1.

After integrating the Mythical Sacred Talisman Body, he cultivated on Shouyang Mountain for a century. When the Demon Race attacked the Human Race, he returned to save the Three Human Ancestors and slew the Great Luo Golden Immortal-level demons surrounding them with talismans 2 3. He later summoned his future self with a Future Golden Talisman; the future self annihilated the demon army, sealed Hongjun in Zixiao Palace for ten million years, and killed Taiqing and Yuanshi once as punishment for aiding the massacre 9.

As Human Emperor, Ling Wudao built alliances around the Human Race, taught the Ancestral Witches how to pursue Mixed Origin Great Luo Golden Immortal attainment, and subdued powerful figures including Luo Hou, Zu Long, and Yuan Feng 26 31 61 64. He established Talisman Temple after merging Penglai, Yingzhou, and Fangzhang into Penglai Three Islands, protecting it with the Primal Chaos Sword Qi Array 73 74.

Ling Wudao repeatedly defeated Hongjun, awakened the Human Dao with the Kongtong Seal, and became its Lord. He later aided Houtu in establishing the Underworld, reorganized the Three Ancient Clans under Human Race protection, arranged teachers for the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, and reopened the Heavenly Court with Fuxi as Heavenly Emperor 85 86 92 140 162. After obtaining the World Extinguishing Millstone and eliminating Hongjun's remaining Dharma Bodies, he finally killed Hongjun and returned to Penglai Three Islands 203 205.

Personality

Ling Wudao is intensely protective of the Human Race and consistently treats its survival and future independence as his responsibility. He rescues the Three Human Ancestors during the Demon Race massacre, rallies Human Race cultivators for vengeance, and deliberately arranges hardships for later Human Emperors so they will not depend entirely on his protection 2 118 141.

He is patient, calculating, and willing to manipulate enemies, allies, and resources to secure an advantage. Rather than allowing the Ancestral Witches to confront Hongjun impulsively, he develops a ten-million-year cultivation plan; he also turns defeated enemies such as Luo Hou, Zu Long, and Di Jun into assets for his broader designs 26 31 61 134.

Ling Wudao often taunts opponents and uses overwhelming power to humiliate them before finishing a battle. His treatment of Hongjun—repeatedly sending him flying with Explosion Talismans before producing the Pangu Axe—reflects his mischievous, provocative side 81 83.
