Background

Su Chen was an impoverished orphan before his martial-soul awakening. His adoptive father, an herbal farmer, left him a dark-golden token and an old copy of The Art of War, which Su Chen had read twenty-seven times before turning six 1 3 4.

At Nording City’s Spirit Hall awakening ceremony, Su Chen manifested the unknown Void Throne, an ancient dark-golden throne with nine Spirit Ring slots. He possessed innate full soul power at Level 10 and immediately received a Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Ring without hunting a soul beast; ten Dark Golden Terrorclaw Bears then answered his summons 1.

The awakening drew Spirit Hall’s attention. Su Chen recognized Elder Jiang Yuandong’s attempt to manipulate him, exposed the planned ambush, and escaped Nording City after Jiang’s martial soul was destroyed by Mo Qianye. Rather than kill Jiang, Su Chen left him alive and crippled to spread fear and confusion within Spirit Hall 2 3.

A token left by his adoptive father resonated with the Void Throne and revealed fragments of its history: Su Chen may be connected to the Supreme Summoner, an existence once associated with the submission of ten thousand beasts and sealed by the Divine Realm 4.

In the All-Spirits Abyss, Su Chen learned that the first Lord of All Spirits had been defeated and erased from history nearly a million years earlier by the God of Asura and other Divine Realm gods, who feared an existence capable of commanding all spirits. The remnant will of that predecessor gave Su Chen the Lord of All Spirits’ godhood seed and revealed that he had been chosen because he refused to kneel before any authority 141.

To complete the inheritance, Su Chen was required to reach Level 99, gather nine red Spirit Rings, and awaken the godhood seed. His divine path therefore placed him in direct opposition to Tang San, the God of Asura’s mortal agent, while the Abyss Seven Generals each received fragments of the Law of All Spirits through their seventh Spirit Rings 141.

Personality

Su Chen is calm under pressure and rarely allows fear, anger, or surprise to affect his decisions. He assesses threats through terrain, enemy behavior, supply lines, and unit roles; even at six, he recognized Jiang Yuandong’s deception, traced Spirit Hall communications through Iron Wall’s senses, and anticipated an ambush route 2 3.

He views summoning as warfare rather than a conventional soul-master ability. To Su Chen, every summon is an independent combat unit, and his duty is to eliminate weaknesses in his army through preparation, specialization, and formation control 8.

His pragmatism can be ruthless: he recruits allies by identifying what they need and what tactical role they can fill, while treating opponents’ psychology as another battlefield resource 5 9 35. Despite this detachment, he protects his companions, comforts wounded summons, and quietly risks himself for Ling Shuang without admitting it 14 23.

Su Chen’s protectiveness became increasingly explicit after founding Abyss Court. He punished those who insulted or threatened his people, demanded that Prince Xue Beng compensate civilians affected by the Royal Knight Corps’ assault, and warned Dugu Bo that harm done to his followers without permission would be repaid tenfold 95 107.

Although he initially treated emotional attachment as a distraction, Su Chen eventually acknowledged that his desire to free Qian Renxue from the Fallen Heaven Power was one of his deepest motivations for becoming stronger. The Ancestral Qilin judged this desire to protect rather than dominate as proof that he was worthy to inherit its power 162.

Awakening and Flight from Nording City

Su Chen’s awakening immediately shattered the social order of the ceremony: an orphan whom other children mocked became the wielder of an unprecedented martial soul and ten Ten-Thousand-Year summons. Spirit Hall’s attempt to seize him ended with Jiang Yuandong crippled and Su Chen fleeing into the Star Dou Great Forest with Mo Qianye 1 3.

Building the Legion

In the forest, Su Chen systematically addressed each weakness in his forces. He acquired Shadow Leopards to counter mobility, Thunder Eagles to establish air superiority, Black Tortoises to reinforce defense, and recruited specialists for poison, ice, gravity, spiritual warfare, and territorial control 4 7 11 12 13 18 27.

Confrontation with the Forest Rulers

Su Chen’s growing legion drew the attention of the Star Dou Great Forest’s highest powers. The Titan Giant Ape completely suppressed Su Chen, his companions, and thirty Ten-Thousand-Year summons, but withdrew after recognizing the Void Throne’s nature 24.

Founding Sky Abyss Academy

After reaching Level 43 and completing his seven-person team, Su Chen founded Sky Abyss Academy to enter the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament openly 28 29.

Tournament Campaign

Su Chen publicly demonstrated four black Soul Rings and forty Ten-Thousand-Year summons, winning preliminary matches without meaningful resistance. He later defeated Tang San in a destructive individual match that pushed both combatants to their limits 31 47 48.

Withdrawal and Departure

After defeating Shrek Academy, Su Chen withdrew Sky Abyss Academy from the tournament, declaring the remaining competitors unworthy of his effort. Ignoring Bibi Dong’s summons, he led his team toward Slaughter City for harsher training 49 50.

Su Chen accepted Dugu Bo and Xue Beng’s offer to enter the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well, where Tang San repaid an old debt by helping the Abyss Court refine immortal herbs. The six generals gained roughly five Soul Power levels, Su Chen evolved the Qian Jun Ant Kings into Hundred-Thousand-Year soul beasts, and he advanced to Soul Sage 111 113 114.

Lord of All Spirits’ Awakening

Su Chen assimilated rather than accepted the Sea God’s Power contained in Tang San’s God-bestowed Spirit Ring. This created his dark-gold eighth ring, awakened the Lord of All Spirits’ divine trial, and revealed the All-Spirits Abyss as the location of his inheritance 136.

Ancestral Qilin Inheritance

Within the ancient inheritance ground, Su Chen accepted his feelings for Qian Renxue and proved to the Nine-Hundred-Ninety-Thousand-Year Ancestral Qilin that he sought power to protect rather than enslave. The Qilin became his seventh-colored gilded-gold ninth Spirit Ring, completing the Void Throne’s ninth slot 162.

Conflict with the Holy Spirit Cult

Su Chen’s faction fought the Holy Spirit Cult and its corpse-puppet forces while Qian Renxue’s Fallen Heaven corruption was purified by the Ancestral Qilin’s power. Su Chen defeated Zhongli Wu, destroyed his Death God Demon Puppet martial soul, and left him for judgment by the soul beasts whose souls he had enslaved 166.

Divine Ascendance

Su Chen’s later rise reshaped the balance between empires, sects, soul beasts, and the Divine Realm.
