Background

Xie Xie was originally a Class Five student at Eastsea Academy alongside Tang Wulin and Gu Yue. Possessing Twin Martial Souls, he nevertheless considered Gu Yue far beyond his level and expected Su Yu to be badly defeated when the newcomer challenged her. 1

He welcomed Su Yu into the group by treating Su Yu, Tang Wulin, and Gu Yue to braised beef in clay pots. When Guang Long extorted the restaurant owner, Uncle Li, Xie Xie immediately intervened despite knowing the gangster was dangerous. He fought with his Light Dragon Dagger, but Guang Long’s two-ring cultivation and Iron Armored Dragon Body overwhelmed him; Tang Wulin shielded Xie Xie from a decisive blow. 6 7

As Class Zero formed, Xie Xie became one of its most vocal members. He explained the Spirit Ascension Platform to Tang Wulin, later officially joined Team Rocket, and began training Pokémon-derived techniques alongside Zangoose. 34 39 54

During the Tianhai Alliance Grand Tournament, he competed with Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi as a three-person team. His stealth and clone tactics secured a win against the Zhou sisters after their Martial Soul Fusion Skill left them exhausted. 69 74

At Shrek, he acted as a scout during the class-monitor election and formed an agility-focused squad. Xie Xie is outspoken, competitive, and prone to swaggering. He openly looked forward to Su Yu being defeated, dismissed the opening-ceremony speech as repetitive, and was eager to show off after receiving or anticipating Su Yu’s support. 1 59 62

His bravado is balanced by a strong instinct to defend others. He stood up for Uncle Li against Guang Long, refused to abandon Tang Wulin for Shrek’s entrance exam, and continued contributing even when facing stronger opponents. 6 7 92 139

He is also quick to argue—particularly with Zhang Yangzi—but adapts well to teamwork. He readily accepted Pokémon-move training, sought tactical support from Su Yu, and volunteered to gather intelligence for his group. 54 62 63 118
